    Rupes gen 1 washer mod

I used my LH -21 for the first time, nice machine but I have heard about the mod for the backing plate using a washer. What are the benefits of doing the mod & what size washer do I need to do it if would like to. The gen 2 looks nice, wish I would have waited but I have what I have & will put it to good use.

    Rupes gen 1 washer mod

Pick up an M8 washer from Home Depot. With the washer, the backing plate will no longer rub against the shroud and spin freely. It helps, without a doubt.

Will this M8 washer work for the Rupes 15 as well?

even though a mk II, you can check out videos I put up before/after washer mod in this thread -

Makes a huge difference on curvy panels with little pad to paint surface area contact.

If you look for Kevin Brown's website (Buff Daddy) he has a video on the washer mod as he was the first to do it and recommend it.
