I just got a big Autogeek box with my Rupes pads and Polish Angel ceramic coating. It's hard to resist trying it out.

Should have bought it from Auto Geek, no worries.

^ obviously, but I was kind of out-of-the-loop on this one! ;)

Gotca, show gratitude to the wifey.
Re: New to Rupes - Trigger Pull Question
The polisher is currently on its way to Rupes USA for examination and possibly repair. I spoke to someone named Will on the phone who was very helpful. They need to feel it first-hand to know if it's normal or not but they seemed to think it should be a smooth trigger pull. Will also seemed to suggest that even if it is normal when it's apart they will look at it and try to make it feel right for me. Here's hoping it's a quick and satisfactory process.
Edit: In parallel my wife requested to return the tool through Amazon. Even as of today detailersdomain has not responded to the Amazon return request. I'm surprised because I've met Phil and I thought he ran a top notch operation.

Just pulled a brand new Mark III LHR 15 out of the box and the trigger pull is smooth at all speeds.
You did the right thing by sending it to Rupes USA since it's brand new. No point in going through a middle man, time saved.
Re: New to Rupes - Trigger Pull Question
If you already have a markII or Griot boss in good working order then no, not worth it.
If you have a 8mm machine or rupes ES or a polisher on last leg..worth the upgrade.
Mark III is just a mark II in a Mille case, variable trigger(they're awesome, but not needed) and a more narrow power band..no improvement on actual torque(lack of stall-ability)
Re: New to Rupes - Trigger Pull Question
Update: My polisher is on its way back from Rupes. They replaced a defective switch in the trigger assembly. Hopefully that solves the issue!

Good to hear. I’m glad you got everything sorted out. I hope you enjoy it when you get it back.
Re: New to Rupes - Trigger Pull Question
Ironically, I told my buddy I just got the Rupes and we scheduled a date for me to come over and polish his race car, last Sunday. In the meantime I sent it back because I didn't want to use it if something wasn't right so I had to do his car with my 7424XP.

That's an expensive machine I'm glad it worked out.
My Mark lll 15 is smooth when running,
I can feel a slight tightness at the end of pull, when not running, like it has something to do with the lock button engaging in that area.. ??
Great machines !! Along with Griot's Boss, Flex 15 :coolgleam:
