My mark 1 has a tendency to fall on it's side all the time no matter how careful I am. I might just steal their idea and install rubber feet on the back of mine.
The longer cord is also nice, but I always use an extension cord, so for me it would make very little difference.
Progressive trigger... maybe if I used it I could see the benefit but really, I want the machine to run at the speed I set it at. 90% of the time I use the trigger lock so I don't have to squeeze that thing for hours at a time. I remember the first car I did, I did not use the trigger lock. After finishing the compounding and polishing I could barelly open and close my hand. Learned a valuable lesson that day
The extra grip spots they added, like on the Griot's Boss machines are nice, but again, not enough to justify a 500$ expense.
Of course if my machine dies and is not repairable, I would grab a Mark III as a replacement.
It seems like they made it more like the Griots Boss Polisher.

Pretty much Griot's made a few good improvement on Rupes' original design. So they took advantage of it and copied them on their machine

Thanks, Jim!! I’ve had little experience with a rotary. I’ll get back to you on my thoughts with the III !

LOL when you said Hi Mark!! flashbacks of the movie The Room came to my mind
I am not Mark but I can tell you I have tried the rotary twice now... wasn't impressed. I keep telling myself I need to get someone who is a pro to show me how to use it. I have watched countless videos but when pad hits the paint, I see no improvement over what a good DA can do.

I agree and more swirls left behind. It's all about technique with the rotary, which I lack.
