I do like the idea of the progressive trigger. I do wish they would’ve came out with a Mark II Duetto though.

About the rotary. I spoke to them Friday and they said a small amount would go out this week. The rest will go out somewhere around the first of 2019. I gave my spot up and got a Fes instead a while back and just recently had them send me a Mille instead.

Take my money ill sell my 15-21 mk2 and get the new ones. I liked Mille's ergonomics. They also said Mk3 have bit more torque again. Maybe the mk4 will be with brushless motor.

Mini mk2 would be cool to have. Bit more power and better speed control would be nice.

I agree. MK II mini would’ve been nice too.

Re: Anyone excited for the MK3?

so for me, if i were to go back to Rupes for a polisher i would go back because of the MKIII, they improved on the things that i didnt like and sold my MKII for.

i never liked the head grip, the carbon look was nice but for my was not comfortable to hold onto when i was out polishing. the trigger.. oh that trigger would drive me mad, when i wanted power i wanted power and the delayed trigger drove me nuts. so the fact that they changed those to a magnetic progesttive trigger and rubber head grib is all i was asking for and also who wouldnt want more power in a tool. so IF i went back i would for those reasons but for not ill likely stay with my Griots.

I love it. My Dewalt was on its last leg. So I had to upgrade anyway and I got tired of waiting on the Rupes. I did some research and decided to go with uncle fester. One of the best decisions I’ve made. It has all of the features that Rupes has on theirs, it has a great feel to it and it has good power. The only knock I have against it is the power cord. I think it’s 15ft. I wish it had 30ft. I hate using extension cords.

I’m glad I swamped my preorder for the Mille. Uncle fester, Mille and 15/Duetto makes a perfect 3 step on a lot of vehicles I’ve been doing

I totally understand your frustration! There are so many RUPES fans (and general consumers) who really want the rotary polisher and have been waiting patiently for the rotary, and understandably their frustration is wearing quite thin.

One of the reasons why RUPES has so many fans and people interested in the rotary is our commitment to quality. Both the LHR15 and 21 (ES and MKII) maintain a less than 1% warranty repair rate. We feel RUPES customers have the right to expect this quality and we want to make sure we deliver. The alternative is move to market quickly to satisfy demand, but this can lead to many issues.

We definitely understand your frustration and we are sorry. It has been a decision to make sure that when the rotary is delivered it will be of the upmost quality and worthy of the RUPES name.

There is some changes such as remapping of the ECU, but the biggest difference is going to be in the trigger/cord/ergonomics.

When the ES tool first came out, the amount of torque was carefully chosen because RUPES created and innovated a new market. The number of technicians using a long-throw DA was near zero. Torque was selected to help maintain pad life in the brand new market.

As skill levels increased, we increased power, to give the users more options and flexibility.

With any long-throw DA, foam pads are highly stressed. The pad is sandwiched between a backing plate moving in very rapid circles and the again the paint which friction locks the pad to.... Increasing the energy through the pad decreases its life.

Going with even more power in the MKIII wouldn't serve much of a purpose other than to shorter the pad life more. Most technicians and users are getting great results on speed 2-4 as their skill level and familiarity with this style of tool increase.

RUPES has a great relationship with many of our customers and we listen to feedback. The Mark III is our response to their requests.

Both Mark II and Mark III are going to get you from A-to-B in about the same time, the biggest difference is Mark III will do it with better ergonomics and control.

I had a chance to test out the new Mark III at the RUPES booth at SEMA and I can attest while it may seem like a small thing, (not just size but function), the speed trigger is really nice. Think of it as the fuel injector for the engine or for you old school guys, the carburetor for the engine. It gives you PRECISE control over the power of the tool and the speed of the pad oscillation like the gas pedal on a Formula 1 race car.

And it's when you couple the precise control over the engine on the RUPES BigFoot 15 Mark III plus add your own skill and expertise to the process that you are able to make the Mark III dance on paint.

Thanks for chiming in Todd, you're a very good writer and you explain things in a very easy to understand manner that is always very professional. RUPES is luck to have you as one of their "Face Guys".

Then don't announce and take preorders on new products that where clearly not ready for production yet. You guys are the worst at that .
