Is that a mini 3” polisher?
True, but I would never turn back. I have all of my shrouds trimmed. It's a waxshine 12mm 5" polisher.

Have you checked with Griot's if they allow this under warranty? I would not want to cut the shroud, have the machine die down the road and be denied a replacement because I cut the shroud.

One guy was taping sand paper on his plate to mow it down. He used to get really pissed people weren't doing it his way...

If you used is constantly with no washer, it would wear itself out anyway.

G15 lacks torque, IMO. G21 has more torque, based on momentum alone. Never tried the 10X.

Re: Tried my 2 new polishers today
The 5" backing plate I bought to the 21mm longthrow polisher I have. Is made so the shroud don't touch it. So the washer mod was not necessary to do or trim the shroud down.
Test it out as Eldo suggest without the washer on. And see if that's helps to the vibration.
Is it a big difference from the BOSS pads and LC HDO pads in weights and hight? That could set it off to more vibrations too.

Good point. The BOSS pads are among the thinnest I've ever used.

I’ve only used my G15 with LC ThinPros so far. Very smooth IMO. Way better than my PC 7424 with the same pads. I have the washer mod done with the washer that came with the polisher.

Possible. I will try my LC ThinPro next time around before removing the washer to see if it removes the vibration.

Re: Tried my 2 new polishers today
I have several G15's and all are single-washer mod, and when used with LC ThinPro's, LC CCS pads and BOSS pads - ultra smooth. I find it slightly less smooth with Thicker pads but no where near what the OP indicated. I can (and have) used them all day without any issues at all. I love their smoothness.
