Am I equipped for lsp ready results with the Rupes polishing system.

    Hi Geeks!

I have a 2014 Cadillac CTS with holograms in it and the customer accepted a paint correction service on it. Color of the I believe is called Midnight blue

Next, I have a 2007 c6 triple black vette. This customer opted for a 1-step polish plus sealant. This car always has been a garage queen with fine swirls and scratches.

Both cars I have not yet worked on.

Talking specifically about the Rupes system, here is what I have.

    21 MK II + mini

    Both machines I have

    Blue / blue combo

    Yellow/ yellow combo

    and the UHS system.

Do I have everything I need to finish both cars lsp ready?

This is nice to have on hand if you need to dial in your approach...

Hummm for most part I think you're ok. Start out with UHS and finish out with Yellow/yellow

Would be nice to have the white/white on hand...for OEM, hard or sticky paint. For these 3, I would start with blue/blue and finish out with white/white.

Nope, as weird as it sounds, the yellow will finish better than the white. Too soft of a pad will cause micro-marring on softer paint, which I have a feeling this will be. The yellow polish might leave a little haze, however. The best combo I've found for soft paint is Scholl S30+ combined with Rupes yellow pad.

The newer GM BLACK paint is on the softer side. The blue might be different. You have the pads and tools you need to finish great. Polish? If the paint is medium to hard, you're golden.

    The yellow/yellow should do it.

    If not, try the UHS.

I've also had great results with the yellow/yellow microfiber. It did leave some haze on the last black Camaro I did though.

Wrapt, I just came across another thread you posted about a bit firmer pads work better for you on soft paint. Very interesting.
