    Microfiber Pad(s) for Mark 2, LHR21.

Hey guys. Was curious what if any microfiber pads you guys are using on your LHR21's.

I see the 6.5" Rupes blue and yellow MF pads, but those are marketed as for the LHR 15.

A lot of the vehicles I do are beyond hammered. I'm looking for faster cutting, and want to try out MF pads instead of just foam.

Any and all input would be awesome. I've also got the LHR75E, so if there's options for that I'm all ears for that too.

    Thanks guys.

Meguiar's and the Griot's Boss microfiber pads are good. Unfortunately the 3" Meguiar's microfiber pads have been discontinued. Rupes offers their own microfiber pads for the mini.

Matt - I bought the 21 mark ii a little while ago and I did a 2012 3 series... Check my profile for a video if you'd like. I bought hexlogic 6.5 and it came out good, but I have a feeling mf will work better. The foam is very difficult to blow out. I'm gonna check out the megs mf pads. Also think about getting the 5in backing plate. The same megs mf pads are made in 5in

I'm a big Meg's microfiber pad guy. Saying that, I haven't tried the Rupes micros just because of the price and the performance of the Meg's pads. I'm still using the Rupes Legacy polishers and I don't normally reach level 5 speed when using the Meg's cutting pads with Menz FG400. Heat is any pads enemy. "Casey Jones watch your speed" has special meaning here. Don't go too fast, it's not necessary, and watch the possibility of delamination due to heat buildup. I love my microfiber pads!

I have a legacy 21, and couple weeks ago I ruined an orange buff and shine mf pad; I felt a burnt smell and the foam's interior kinda melted. The exterior was fine.
I believe the thick foam is not advised for the long 21mm throw, I never had the problem with the meg's thinner mf pad.
The 21 was running on a five inch bp, on speed 4,5. 21mm throw, bp of 5in, thick foam, yes, I know, I pushed too far, my fault.
I believe that this is the reason Rupes doesn't make 7in mf pad for the 6in original 21 bp, probably the wise italians engineers figured the throw is to much for it, so they made 6in pads for a less aggressive 15mm throw. Also, the original Rupes pads has ventilation holes, and the foam is a lot stiffer.

Rupes 180 mm (7 inch) Foam Pads are designed to be used with a 6 inch hook and loop backing plate

I used my Rupes MKII 15 today for the first time with a BOSS Yellow pad.
There was some vibration, but no issues. Cut through a big scratch just using some Pinnacle Advanced Polish and the Boss Yellow Pad.

I'm going to probably have to go with the Rupes pads, only issue is, according to Rupes the Green pad does not perform well with solvent content of that particular compound (menz 400) (which apparently is rather heavy). , i.e. Menz FG400 and I'm assuming Pinnacle Advanced Compound, since I've heard the genetic make-up is similar in both compounds. I have gallons of Pinnacle Compounds... So I'm stuck there, not purchasing Rupes until I'm out of Pinnacle.

GG Boss MF pads are great. I get very good results with my MKII and various polishes with them. The Meg's MF pads are good too but seem to matt down easily.

    Give these a shot.

Rupes 6 Inch Blue Microfiber Cutting Pad for LHR 21ES, 2 Pack

While I use the appropriate size blue mf pads on my Duetto, these larger ones have been killing it on a PC with Ultimate Compound.
