Replacing Brushes
I noticed a few sites sell brushes for the Rupes. I purchase an extremely used Rupes 21 and I would like to do a refresh of the machine if possible. How often are the brushes supposed to be changed? Any benefits to replacing often?

Re: Replacing Brushes
Carbon brushes are like brake pads - you change them when you need to. No benefit in changing them before they're due to be replaced.
The wear rate of the brushes on the BF polishers is actually extremely low when compared to other tools, so unless its got a ton of hours on it you should be fine, but if you want a more accurate assessment (and are comfortable with it) take one out, shoot a pic and send it to dylanv@rupesusa.com . I'll be happy to have our service and repair guys give you an approximate 'remaining life' judgement on them.
