Thanks for the info Kevin. Ordered the #61384 and just by chance I have the solo pad coming from a black friday order.

Great info, Ive ordered the 61384 as well. Ive been having good results with the Meguiars pads on the rotary, Im really curious to see how the rotary attatchment will do.

Kevin, Nice info. Thanks for sharing it. I assume that the unit without the locking pin still has the same stroke but just doesn't lock into forced rotation mode. Would that be a correct assumption?

That is correct. Don't feel too bad about ordering the non-locking unit.
The power created by the 3/4" diameter stroke at 3,000 RPM is a bit intimidating, even in random rotation mode! I suspect that a lot of guys will use it at much lower speed settings. Another great thing about the Dynabrade is that you can use larger diameter pad and still get a lot of backing plate rotation.

Wow, Kevin.... great information! You've talked me into the 61384 as well. Ought to be interesting to see how this compares to my other DA polishers. Especially will be interesting to compare it against the Flex 3401. It almost sounds like this is going to blow the Flex DA out of the water.

Any of the others of you who have ordered this getting a Flex PE14-2 150 as well? That ought to be an interesting setup as the weight probably will end up right around the same as a Makita 9227C by itself and have similar power.

I've got the Flex 3403, so I plan to test it and find out if the motor has enough power to keep up with the Dynabrade or not.

The dynabrade attachment on a buffer is allot of machine to handle. It does cut out defects quickly but can be a handful to use until you have mastered it. I have the switchable model and never use the "rotary" option as it isn't a true rotary action.

    Hi Shiny,
I don't advise using the dynabrade attachment with the Flex 3403. It's not really made to handle that amount of weight. Get a cheap "full size" buffer that can go at least 3000 rpm for the dynabrade attachment and use the 3403 as a rotary only, and you'll be happy.

I've got a Makita as well that I can use the Dynabrade with. I just figured the lightweight machine might be a good fit and be a bit easier to handle. I'll probably still give it a shot, I just won't expect anything great from it.

Something you should Know it works as full DA with button off and in the on position it's like a Flex forced rotation not a true rotary. so if you want to rotary buff something you will need to remove it.
59.00 is a very good price I think I paid 79-89 for the 3 I bought maybe 3 years ago
I know this post is several months old, but I have to ask, where did you guys find the Dynabrade for $59.00. I haven't been able to find them for less then $81.00. I have a Mikita 9227 which seems to work fine on my white Chevy truck but I have a heck of a time getting the swirls out of my wife's black toyota four runner, this might to be just what I need.
