New Griots... Rotary? Plus knitted wool pads.

Just noticed on their "What`s new" page - they`ve got a 3" rotary coming. Available 9/11 (Per the site). Figured it's OK to share here since I'm sure AG will stock it when it's available.

    From the Griot's site:

"Designed as a truly innovative solution for spot repair, removal of isolated severe paint defects, and headlight restoration. It will be your go-to tool for creating flawless paint.

    • Precision-wound, 700-watt motor for endless power
    • Variable speed dual-pivot trigger throttle features a smooth power band from 0 - 2500 RPM
    • Includes 1", 2", 3" Mini Rotary Backing Plates, and 2" & 3" shaft extensions
    • Quick-Connect power cord for easy storage"
They`ve also added knitted wool pads to their offerings. Those look like they`re available 9/7. Sizes from 1" to 6.5".

"Our knitted wool pads are the perfect balance between fast-cutting ability and supreme finishing quality. The BOSS Knitted Wool Pads are designed to be our most efficient paint correcting solution for use on both rotary and orbital applications. The pads are manufactured of low-lint, 1/2" sliver-knitted wool fibers laminated to an exclusive high-rebound Innerflex foam. This Innerflex offers improved panel contouring with a dynamic rebound which efficiently transfers orbital energy for maximum pad rotation. BOSS Knitted Wool Pads maximize cutting ability of all our BOSS Creams and delivers long service life due to their unique lamination process and pre-polymer reticulated foam Innerflex. Hand or Machine washable, air-dry."

It shows the family “lines”. It’s big for just a 3” pad. IMHO.

The G8 was on my list to be the next polisher that I picked up, now I'm not so sure. Love Griot's photos that they take of their polishers.

    Cool.

    More tools.

Rod Kraft from Griot's will be here as a VIP Industry Expert for my September Class, I'll ask him about this new too.

Heck, maybe he can bring one?

Training Cars - For the September 2020 Detailing Class

Waiting for him to send me a picture of himself and then I'll add it to the above thread with all the other VIP guests that will be here for that class.

It used to be people complained because we had so few choice for tools - now people complain because there are so many choices....

    Lol. My words exactly.

I guess a third GG polisher doesn't constitute a mental problem, right??
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

Jokes aside this looks pretty cool.
The best way to get revenge? Teach them how to detail. They'll spend the rest of their life worrying about the condition of their car.

I had the pleasure of meeting and learning from Rod Kraft years ago when he was still with Meguiar's. Indeed, awesome man!
