    Rupes Rotary / LH 19E

Does anyone know or have any scoop on whether the new Rupes LH 19E will have any features that set it apart from other rotary buffers?

    Thanks in advance.

Without having the machine in hand or a schematic, it looks like they've used a two stage gear reduction between the motor and the spindle. Since the RPMS run between 450 and 1750, that would make sense because it would let them run the motor at a decent speed while still being able to get the speed at the spindle down that low - I don't know this for sure, but that's something I'd have done - if I wanted a machine to spin that slow and have the motor still have really good control of the spin rate.

Next, they've made anti-vibration handles, a nice touch though I'm not really sure if they're necessary in this application.

The long extension cord will work for people who work close enough to a power outlet. It'll let them not use an extension cord. On the other hand, if you do need an extension cord, it will make putting the tool away more time consuming because you'll have to roll up more cord on the machine and come up with a way to store it so it doesn't tangle up.

It also looks like they've used a really decent cord and the junction between the cord and the machine looks good.

Those sound like solid features. Especially the gear reduction.
