Thanks, Mike. That's the post that helped me make that decision, but I couldn't find it. We need a special Mike P. Advanced Heuristic Search Mode for the likes of you.

Half my forum work is remembering, locating and then sharing a thread or a post I've already made to simply share information while saving time.

When I want to find an article I've written or even an individual reply I've written I simply go to Google and then type in the best key words for the topic I'm looking for information on and then add my name and hit the search button.

In this case I simply went to Google and typed in,

Makita BO6040 Mike Phillips


And found the above thread with my reply.

If you look at the first post of the thread I linked to you'll see I also created a blue clickable link to that thread at the top of the thread to make it easy for me to share into the future.

I wrote my reply in 2012 and now I just shared that blue clickable link in this thread in the year 2016 so I've vindicated myself by sharing that link in the future (which is now)




The OP of the thread I replied to in the past and in this thread both ask great questions and in my original answer I did my best to really lay out the reality of using the BO6040 for detailing cars.

Someone needs to come out with a Pneumatic forced rotation DA for the same reasons listed in that thread. I could use that all day and not get tired, or "banged up" My air DA is so much lighter, and only requires one hand. I really want the forced rotation feature out of it though. I can only do very light polishing, and wax applications with it. If such a product already exists please let me know, as it'd be great for a production based setting.
