Makita 9227C electrical issue
I have a 1 year old Makita buffer and was buffing a car and pulling on the cord lightly when the power stopped. I first thought at first I pulled the power cord out of the heavy duty extension. But no. I tried it in other known and tested plugs. No go.
I noticed that if I held the buffer and pulled the trigger at a 45 degree angle it would go on and run perfectly and when I changed the position of the buffer it would stop running. I tried moving the power cord to the buffer to duplicate this and could not. So I replaced the trigger. Guess what - it did nothing different. Same problem.
Has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it?
Thanks in advance

Sounds like a loose connection problem.

No loose connection.
I found the problem and will guide you thru the simple repair.
The problem was the wires in the power cord were damaged near the tool right at the end of the wire relief boot.
So I took off the cover on the handle and took a picture of it so I would know exactly how to reroute the wires back and proceeded to take off the power cord.
I cut off about 6" and skinned the wires back and reattached the 2 wires to the trigger and put a new loop end (red) on the ground.
Plugged it in and it works like new.
If I had this problem most people with this buffer will have this problem someday so now you know how to fix it yourself in 15 minutes.

Maybe not loose, but still a connection problem. Thanks for replying.
