Reason I suggested that is because he's just starting out [1st post, looking to buy DA & pads for the 1st time] so his wash & drying technique may or may not be quite on point yet.. It wouldn't be so great if he focused on correcting his paint, only to induce swirls right back into it due to the learning process we've all been through. We're not all born with our favorite choice of towels & mitts the 1st day😉
Fillers allow you a mulligan while still being able to use your polisher for the 1st time.

What swirl and polish combo should I go with?

I've been told wolf gang works great but man it some pretty pricey stuff.

I'm pretty sure i will go with this for my sealant Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax, polymer wax, best car wax, Ultimate Wax
Corvette paint is a really hard paint to pull swirls out of .whats your definition of improvement,a correction or a quick Job.all those waxes you mentioned will conceal all the imperfections in the paint one wash you will be back to square one.

I'm not saying you're wrong, because you may just be right.. But I would think it would make it past at least 1 wash.

Ever since last weekend I've been looking for a guineua pig black vehicle that's loaded with swirls to run some tests on.. I'm interested in how long it lasts, and what it all looks like once the make up comes off. I plan to do at least 1 50/50 with the Black Wax topped with D156, and the other side topped with sealant, and maybe even another panel on it's own.
1 thing I know is it doesn't last too long on it's own. But I've never witnessed how fast the swirls all come back because I've never applied to a car with swirls until last weekend. Lol.

Iike these even more than the high dollar boutique lines. Easy to use, readily available, and delivers great results consistently. Their "wetter" consistency allows for maximum pad rotation, opposed to being slowed down the way a thicker product will do. M100/M205 is what I use in their professional lines.

If you stay with the CCS pad line, look into the pink to compound with, and green CCS to polish with. These pads rely on the cell construction to cut rather than density. This allows you to obtain maximum backing plate rotation, while using much less downward pressure.

Just curious: What year is the ZO6?

    First things first...
IMO: To determine the tools, pads,
liquids, etc. to use for Paint Correction,
    certain steps/processes should be taken.

    So...
    After washing the vehicle,
    have you performed:
    •Iron particles decontamination (ex: IronX)
    •"The Baggie Test"
•Claying (per: "The Baggie Test" results)
    •Diagnosed the "paint's condition",
    via Swirl Finder-lighting

Wolfgang is perfect for GM paint .... as is Menzerna. You spent the $$ on Corvette versus a Chevette, don't skimp on the polish.

Those sponges work great, but check them often for grit stuck in the rubber part.
