When I do a one step polish I always use GD's Infinite Use Detail Juice as a quick top coat. I had it hold up for over a month on an outdoor kept car. It's my go to and it has all the other things it does great to boot.
Have you heard of optimum car wax...

It is basically the professional version of Megs Ultimate Quick Wax. I was using this in conjunction with Megs #21 Synt Sealant (which is essentially the same as NXT Liquid). I thought the UQW worked just fine, its application was much like a quick detailer and that combined with the #21 gave me good protection and a nice shine. I have since switched to XMT Spray Wax as it seems to be a little better and is usually a great value when on sale at AG.

Amazing stuff, I have great results using it as a drying aid with rinseless washing. Works amazing on black trim and door jams.

Re: meguiars d-156 synthetic express spray wax

I have used Megs Ultimate Quik Wax which is supposed to be the consumer version. I liked it, easy to use and very hydrophobic, left surface very slick. I used as a drying aid or right after a wash. I still have a bottle left and use it around the house lol. I sealed my car with Sonax PNS and read UQW didn't play well with it. So I replaced it with Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer, which is a little tougher to use. But gives insane shine, hydrophobic qualities and apparently lasts longer.

UQW smells better than D156, but suffers from an inferior sprayer on the consumer bottle .. That reason alone makes D156 a whole lot better than UQW.

How would 156 or UQW be as a topper for Essence?

It will work fine. Reload may be a better option.

I would probably use a longer lasting LSP if you are going through the trouble of correcting the paint. On a clayed car with no polishing, sitting outdoors I've seen one month durability.

Edited to add one month durability with UQW.

Cheap by the gallon during sales and very easy to use. as drying aid that adds a little protection I love it. Makes the towel a lot less grabby it just glides across the paint.
