    Exclamation 3M 05955 too agressive

    help!
I dont know if i can post this question here?
one of the guys i work for polishing cars he ask me to get two
gallons of 3M 05955 Super Duty Rubbing Compound.
now he is telling me he did not want it that instead the white
compound i use (not compound its polish )i'm sure he did not askme for that but any way i did get two gallons of this product
that now he don't want and i don't think i can use it myself
since this is really aggressive and its design for marine pain
could i still use it on cars after wet sanded ? can it be use on car
has anybody use it on clear coat on cars?
once he told me to try on one of the cars i wash doing for him
but i found it too aggressive.
seller will not accept returns .

From my notes, it 'looks' like this is a tad more aggressive than Meguiar's 105.

Maybe take a look over at 3M's site and see what they have on it.

    Good Call Bill!!

As to M105 (per product description on AGO's store):
The super-micro abrasives cut quickly to remove 1200 grit sanding

As to 3M Super Duty Rubbing Compound 05955 (per 3M):
Aggressive compound that removes 1000 and finer sand scratches on all types of paint surfaces.

    But as we all know:
There are many other variables that come into play when compounding/polishing...

I know 5955 you can really feel the compounding grit. I think that was originally used on lacquer finishes.

Not the best solution because you own 2 gallons but cut it 50/50 with polish and you'll reduce it's aggressiveness and make it more useable.

Can be used on cars but only recommend freshly painted and in place of paint correction sanding. Very aggressive but awesome in the right hands for the right job
