Thanks! will do a test spot on the wet-sanded repainted panel!
There with a microscope I can see like infinite scratches!
Hopefully after compounding and polishing there'll be

It also says that PO85U is formally know as PO85RD. So does mean its just a newer version of it?

I am interested in the Menerna po85rd as well. I have a 2008 Denali and I'm not sure if my paint is considered hard or soft. Does the hardness or softness of the paint determine what type of finishing polish to use? I've recently been using the M205.

Re: Best finish polish
I had a doubt because I thought that since PO85rd is made for ceramic clear coats it might have lil' more cut(than required) on my Hyundai's soft clear coat.

Re: Best finish polish
Just a quick question, If I compound with UC, will I need to follow it up with M205 and/or PO85RD??
(I need as perfect a finish as possible!!! )

Yes you should be prepared to use M205 or PO85RD. In the prior posting you were worried that PO85RD had too much cut for soft paint. UC is pretty aggressive.

Re: Best finish polish
^Yea! Initially I thought 85rd was only for cerami-clear clear coats!
(every hr here I'm learning something new!)
Actually I'm dealing with a repainted panel which has been wetsanded by a detail shop!(they used a diamond cut compound without following it up with anything and used speed glaze to hide the compounding swirls!)
I want to restore these panels and the whole of the car to a show car finish!
On repainted panels I'm gonna do a test spot with M205 with a white LC pad and follow it with PO85rd.
I'll need UC if the above combo isnt enough for the job!
btw is UC followed by M205 followed by PO85rd, overkill??

Nope, I use these together allot.
M205 - 2500 grit
PO85RD - 3000 grit
