Review - Blackfire All-in-one Trim and Tire Protectant

    Yes, yet another review:

BLACKFIRE All-In-One Trim & Tire Protectant, tire dressing, tire protectant, whitewall tire cleaner

I was also among the lucky winners to get some new products to test. Fortunately, my reivew will be just a tad different as I got to use this product on old, neglected, faded trim. I did not plan it this way, it just fell into my lap.

The subject is a 1994 Suburban. This thing was mint, must have been mostly garage kept, but does have some wear and tear in the form of swirled out paint and faded trim. For being 20+ years old, it was otherwise a gem. My friend who it belongs to told me he planned to paint the bumper trim. I said NO! I have a product to try on that to restore it. Truth be told I had a few products I knew would work but since I had this new product, seemed perfect to try it out!

I do not have much to add as far as describing the product itself other than I didnt really get a fragrance from it. That might be more me than the product.

One thing that I think is huge is the need NOT to preclean the surface. That is what really separates this product from everything else comparable to it.

As you can see the plastic was very faded and had those whitish swirls in it. I did nothing to prepare the surface. I took a microfiber rag I use for this type of thing (as recommended by the bottle) and began wiping on. I honestly used the product quite liberally, but it seemed to get absorbed into the plastic quickly and dry just as quickly.

In this photo the contrast is apparent and it shows how it darkened the "swirls" inside the plastic.

There were surface scratches it obviously didnt remove, but it did a nice job of restoring the original look of the plastic.

I will probably give it one more go over, but I am not sure other products will have done much more or any better. This truck will be a garage queen believe it or not so I wont be able to get true durability testing from this application.

For me, knowing I can get these kind of results without having to pre clean the surface is key. I like products that are easy to use and this one nails that!

I would say its a winner!

Great review! It did a great job restoring that rear plastic bumper. I'm sure it'll look even better after the 2nd coat.

Nice review. That's a night and day difference on that old faded trim.

Very nice review. Man that really darkened the trim on the first coat! Can't believe it!

    Thanks for sharing.
