Here is an update. We had a few hard rains this weekend, and things are starting to happen to the trim

DLux top WCTCND bottom drivers side:

DLux top WCTCND bottom passenger side:

On these pieces, DLux seems to be holding up much better. On the passenger side the WCTCND looks 90% gone. This was applied only 5 days ago.

When coatings fail, people often point to the prep as the culprit. That is why I purposely removed these pieces to scrub them surgically clean, AND made sure to apply the 2 coatings to the same trim piece (opposed to one on drivers side one on passenger side)

    WCTCND top DLux bottom:

In the above pics its much closer, but DLux is darker.

    All DLux:

    All WCTCND:

It looks like after only 5 days, DLux is holding up much better. I'll let the test go on though to see what happens.

Thanks for the update. I had been eagerly waiting to see how the WCTCND held up against the DLux.

    Nice job!!!

Not even close, Dlux is the clear winner!!

I wonder how WG Trim Sealant would compare to Dlux?

Dlux gives it a more dark appearance than Wolfs.
    And Dlux beads tighter too.

I think DLUX is the winner....

EDIT: "WG Trim Sealant" ... I thought you meant "Wolf's Trim Sealant" - Not Wolfgang Trim Sealant. I got it on the 2nd read

It's holding up OK on some surfaces, others not so good. DLux holds up well on anything. I sort of suspected this product was more of a "dressing" with some glass/silica in it to boost durability just by the cost and size of the bottle ($29.99 for 5oz) and the ease of application. Usually when something seems to be too good to be true it is - like getting a 5 oz bottle of trim "coating" for $30 that will compare to a 1 oz bottle for $40. After 5 days, I don't think the name "coating" quite fits the product.

I posed the question that maybe the new DP coating may be using similar logic.

It seems more durable than a dressing, which likely would have been gone in the rain. But, I expect to get at least 6 months out of anything sold as a "coating" in the name or product description. But, this doesn't mean it's a bad product - as long as you know what to expect.

    The test will go on.

Very interesting results here. I was wondering how this would turn out. I've been looking into DLux for awhile now, but wanted to give the Wolf's the benefit of the doubt, as I do with everything I consider. Perhaps the Wolf's was meant to be along the same lines as PERL on external trim, but a little more durable?

Well, the test is over on these trim pieces. The Wolf's is gone 100%. This coating lasted exactly 6 days and one rinseless wash. As you can see (and read), the trim piece were "split" down the middle and each "coating" was applied on an end.

I did this intentionally, because every time a coating fails, the blame always seems to fall on the coater and the prep. That can not be the case here, as you will see, DLux is holding up perfectly on the same piece where the Wolf's disappeared.

Here are today's pics (7/26/13) of these trim pieces removed from the vehicle again. I'm going to coat the whole piece with DLux now.

    DLux bottom / Wolf's top:

    Wolf's Left / DLux Right:

The Wolf's "coating" is 80% gone on the other trim is well, and DLux is holding up fine. I will post pics of that next time I wash the vehicle and re-coat those areas with DLux 100%.

Thanks to Jesse from Wolf's for sending me this product to try. It was a very nice gesture, but I have to be honest. I leave it to the reader to form their own conclusions on this.

From this and some of the comments on the paint product, it seems that Wolf's is stretching the term "coating" a bit. I always used to enjoy Jesse's posts on another forum telling us what suckers we were to still live in the US (he's an ex-pat living in Europe). Of course his Ferrari details were always nice, too.
