    Review: CarPRO TRIX

    Product Info (From AutoGeek)
CarPro TRIX Tar and Iron Remover, paint cleaner

    Manufacturer product link and information

    Car Pro Professional Car Coatings

A pre-coat or post polish cleaner. TRIX is special chemical mixture formulated to remove Tar and Iron at the same time. We took the special IronX components add additional chemicals and design it to remove Tar and Naphtha base components as well,
this way while De-contaminating the car pre-polishing it will save much time , money, and labor work.

TRIX is very fast and strong degreaser while still its pH neutral base chemical!
use it on any Surface, wheels cleaning , car paint, glass, plastic trims, aluminum, chrome... JUST DO THE TRIX..!

    Precautions (from manufacturer)

o Before Full car spraying , please test on small spot area.
o Do not let dry on plastic surface !
    o Avoid working under sunshine
o Work in ventilated area with face & hands cover.
o Avoid PolyCarbonate headlights - Don't let TRIX get on your headlights. If you do it is easily fixed with a light polishing but just avoid it.
o Avoid getting it on a Clear Bra.

    Presentation

500 and 1000ml bootles. I saw somewhere they also have refills on plastic bags, but i don't think AG carries them. I got the 1000ml bottle from AG.

Sorry, no pictures of the TRIX bottle.

    Review / Results

I bought TRIX to use on wheel cleaning. After some research, i found it to be more cost effective than a dedicated wheel cleaner, and combines chemicals to remove both tar and iron contaminants at the same time. Also, i can always use if to remove tar from the bottom parts and bumpers of the car if needed.

    Wheels before:

This time, i took my wheels off to clean the wheel wells and to polish and to apply a sealant to the wheels. First i washed the wheels with APC. TRIX took care of the remainder brake dust, oil tar, pitch and tar blocks (see picture).

    Tar blocks

After spraying and waiting about 3-4 minutes, the product changed color and i agitated with a brush. I had to repeat the operation to remove most tar blocks, but I had to use my fingernails to remove the tough ones. TRIX removed the residues with easy after agitation with a brush tough.

    TRIX in action

After that i polished the wheels with a foam cone and Menzerna 4000 and applied Finish kare 1000P on them. Results were awesome!

    Final result

    Final thoughts

o TRIX did a terrific job with my wheels. I will continue using it for sure.

o TRIX is like 2 products in one, but cheaper than IronX. Also, almost same price as Sonax Full Effect, but TRIX is more versatile IMHO because you can use on paint.

o It's nice to have both iron and tar/glue decontamination in one product. But you have to shake the bottle often for it to be effective. They are 2 products in one, and you can definitely see that looking at the bottle. They are two immiscible liquids and you can see the two phases looking at the bottle. So, shake often and before each spray, otherwise you will have just the bottom, higher density liquid (don't know if ironx or tarx) sprayed.

o Manufacturer says the consumption is 150 to 200ml per car. Can't comment on that.

o I read somewhere that TRIX turned someone's red brake calipers to pink. So, i avoided using on mine altogether.

o Always use protective eye glasses with this products, especially when using a wheel brush like daytona because the splatter/splash. This is a strong product.

o Use in a well ventilated area. This stuff stinks so bad, trust me. The smell took a while to leave my place. It's a con of the product for sure.

o I also used on paint to remove some tar. After 3 minutes and some agitation, all gone!

o I never used Sonax Full Effect or IronX, so can't compare with them.

Thanks for stopping by and I will gladly answer any questions.

CarPRO TRIX appears to be another quality product from CarPro team. The more CarPro products I try the more the product brand impresses me. Truly a top shelf product line...

    Nice review, documentation, and photos!!

    Thanks BobbyG!

TRIX is the only CarPRO product i used so far. Ironx is tried, tested and widely approved, but i took the chance with TRIX and i do not regret.

    Best regards!

Thank you pcw25! I think TRIX is an underrated product, maybe outshined by its brother ironX.

Great review!!! I for one like TRIX just on the dual power of ironX plus tar removal. I need to do a test to see if it can handle some road paint on a wheelwell on my truck
