Sonax Dashboard? I have a bottle of it, but stop using it (went back to 1Z) because I was having a difficult time spreading it evenly.

Ill never stop using zymol leather cleaner and conditioner. Leaves a clean Matte finish, leaves a very nice level of protectant on my seats and smells great and you cant beat the price!

    Re: Favorite interior dressing

I've used Ultima Interior Guard Plus, Optimum Leather Protectant, Meguiar's #40 and 303 Aerospace Protectant on my gray pebble-finish and hard black plastic interior trim. After application as per manufacturer's instructions and the products have dried, all the products looked and felt the same way to me, no gloss or oily finish, which is how I like it.

The Ultima product does not claim any UV protection on the label (but adds it on the website, hmmmm), which concerns me. It looks/feels like clear oil and smells a little like leather. It comes with a nice foam applicator.

The Opt product looks and goes on kinda like melted butter. It has a faint chemical smell.

To me, the Ultima and Opt products are a little easier to apply because you can see where you've applied them and how much you've applied.

Meg's #40 and 303 look the same - a watery white liquid. Meg 40 did leave some streaks on the black plastic, it may contain silicone but I couldn't download the msds from their website.

Megs has a slight chemical smell. It looks, feels and smells so much like Armor All that it turns me off.

The 303 product does not have a smell.

I have more experience with the 303 product and like it, it seems to work everywhere and doesn't do anything wrong. I've also contacted them with a product question and they were very helpful.

My 5 cent summary: The Ultima is waaay too expensive. I like the Opt & 303 products, the Opt is a little cheaper in small quantities, alot less $ in larger quantities. Megs dosen't do it for me, but that's more a personal reason then performance based.

Do you apply it to a MF or directly onto the dashboard?

The Sonax? I've applied it using both methods.

1Z I will spray onto a mf or directly onto the surface. It depends on the area I'm working on. For example, on the dash I spray directly since I'm not too concerned with overspray, plus it spreads evenly.

On the other hand, for interior window sills, I apply to a foam applicator since there a multiple surfaces I don't want to overspray onto. Albeit it's not a wax or the like and is pretty much safe on most surfaces.

Meguiars m40 is a cleaner and conditioner/protector whereas the 303 aerospace is just a protectant
