Griots 6" backing plate VS. Lake Country's backing plate

Well my question is which backing plate has better velcro or better quality all together?

I have a Griots 6" ROP and the backing plate seems to have very strong velcro hooks on it and seems to have strong quality that it won't break. I destroyed a few 6.5" HT pads (a noob move) but learned from my mistakes and from the great feedback in the forum. I didn't have a problem with the BP and pads spinning under pressure on speed 5. Thats actually how I destroyed the pad using too much pressure and overheating the pad and seperating some of the velcro and pad collapsed from heat.

I want to know if I go ahead and get the 5" Lake Country BP and 5.5" LC HT pads if the LC BP has good velcro that holds or if anybody has a problem with the LC BP at all?

I have the LC 5.5 backing plate on my GG.

    No issues at all.

Did you try the 6" backing plate that came with the GG-ROP? What kind of pads do you use?

I never used the supplied 6' backing plate.

When I bought mine I got 5.5 inch LC flat pads.

I started with it and 6.5" ccs pads then went to 6.5" ht pads then bought a 5" lc backing plate and 5.5"ht pads that's the combo I use now or the Meg microfiber system in 5". All good quality stuff IMO.

OK great I think I will wait till the morning to see what BOGO is offered before I make my order. I am using M105/cyan, M205/tangerine following Megs #7 and Megs ULW/crimson.

Has anyone ever try the Hydro Tech 5.5" thin pads?
Does anyone think or have experience with the 6" pads on the GG 6" ROP?

I've used the the 6" pads and they worked great but the 5.5's are easier to use and correct better.
I use the ht thin pads and really like them! They are my go to foam pad, on the griots they have awesome correction ability. Pretty much use them with the Wolfgang combo and the results are fantastic!

Why are you going with the #7 glaze step? I don't think you should need it.

I was told before I made my first pruchase on AG that the M205 finishes lsp ready so I thought since I wasn't gonna use a caranuba wax, I would use the showcar glaze to add depth before using the synthetic polymer megs ultimate liquid wax. Since I destroyed the cyan cutting pad I couldn't finish my car so I didn't get a chance to try this combo.

Also I picked up this Mothers Reflections Advanced Top Coat ultimate high-gloss finish.
Mothers Reflections Advanced Top Coat tops your Mothers Car Wax to increase shine and reflection. Its the finishing touch on any Mothers finish.
It has a high rating on AG it says apply on top of wax or sealant. Has anyone ever use this or heard about it?
