Re: Poorboys Trim Restorer and Black Wow Comparison

It has been about two weeks now since I applied both products to the cowl of my truck so I took another picture today to show how Poorboy's Trim Restorer and Black Wow are holding up.

You can see from the picture that the PBTR side (right) is starting to fade a little compared to the Black Wow side (left). The Black WOW side is definitely darker.

No washes since first application and it has seen a few light rains.

It's probably time to apply a second coat to the PBTR side. I wanted to see how long one coat held up initially before I applied the second coat.

Thanks for the follow-up! It's easy to forget about these kinds of threads because they don't always get updated. Now that you've brought this one to the top, it reminds me of a few other threads just like this.

    Definitely keep the updates coming!

Re: Poorboys Trim Restorer and Black Wow Comparison

I have a 2003 f350 which has to stay outside 31, [24+7=31] and I wanted the cowl to be black again also. Finding out from experiance that sometime when you start with a treatment you have to continue as the plastic parts end up looking bad after all the rain we get. My solution was to use a spray flexable bumper coating after prepping the plastic. I used this on the cowl, side mirror stands and side bar steps. The paint has been on over a year now and looks as good now as when it was sprayed. Yes you have to remove the parts to be painted but if done right you should only have to to this once, worked for me.

Yea, I can get them together but they just pop back out again in no time. It has been like that since I bought it new, I believe. Unfortunately I think most of them from that era fit like this.

No dis...... just showing how they compare on my truck. I still like the PBTR better due to it's ease of application.
