I use GD method... but if the roof isn’t too dirty I sometimes use a hybrid with the RW MF mitts on the roof and finishing off on the windows before moving on to GD method with MF towels for the rest of the car.

I use to use just mitts when I started until I learned of the GD.

    Will do, per your instructions.

I only have the IK foamer (not 2.0, the previous one). Didn’t even think about getting a better one. I’ll at least try the one I have first.

I did buy Hydrate as well. How/when should I use?

The IK works fine but if you do buy a foamer try the marolex or Ammo Aerator. I like it best with the dry tip in the IK. It was kinda runny for me with medium.

If car not to dirty i will foam a panel let dwell for a minute or so and then wipe foam off in a swiping/ turning motion. My goal is just to get the bulk of it. If their are foamy streaks thats fine. They’ll wipe off when drying.

I will at this point spray 2-3 sprays Hydrate per panel. I spray directly on car. It’s thick like lotion so won’t go everywhere. Then just wipe down with 16x16 pfm(2 per car). I spray on car as i feel as a drying aid it spreads more evenly (less chance towel marring?).

    Some tips:

don’t worry about foam in cracks and crevices you can’t reach foam will dissipate.

First couple times you may over spray onto other panels till you get use to it but no big deal.

The Hydrate is nice as a drying aid after a bucket wash. It doesn’t leave behind to much protection but the buttery feel makes me think it’s doing most against marring and thats what I look for in a drying aid. Try it with a PFM and let us know what you think!

    Re: Griots Ceramic speedshine

I used this yesterday after my wash, but I sprayed it on the headlights and then rinsed off. It worked well that way. I don't think that would be the most ideal way to use the product. Prior to spraying it on the headlights the water would just stay on the surface. A quick light spray of GCSS followed by water made it very hydrophobic.

Anyone know how GCSS compares to Meguiars X-Press Spray Wax or their Ultimate Quick Wax?
