There's a combo pack out there (can't remember where I saw it) with the G9 and G8 for less than $350. Are the, "minis" needed (as @JustJesus) had suggested?
The heat is a non-issue really with a random orbit. New pad technology, and the G9 being cooled as it is, won't affect anything you are planning to work on. You will be OK with the G9.

I still see the GG6 for sale on the big "A".
I will say this: I would NEVER get rid of my GG6!

I can't imagine if anything is needed in detailing. I'm not looking around, but 350 seems pretty good for the two tools.

The big GG also has them. I do carry my GG6 as a back-up tool on my mobile jobs! With both backing plates (5" and 3")

I'd recommend anyone reading this thread to go over to the A and grab one before they are gone as well.
(I'd never recommend Amazon over AG/GG, but if that's the last place that has them for sale............... )

Re: Rupes 15 III vs. Gear Driven DA’s
Thanks for the feedback guys.
I found a few barely used GG 6" locally and reached out to see if they're still available. They're all sub $80 so likely will still pick up a G9 with the savings!
EDIT: Found the GG 6" on AG for $115 and applied a coupon code! Y'all the real MVPs. Including AG.

Re: Rupes 15 III vs. Gear Driven DA’s
Wow I'm glad I checked in on this thread. I just used my G6 today because I couldn't find my G9 in the garage mess and it came through Again! . My saying is tools have advantages for each users experience. If you have an autobody shop or pick and pull junkyard, ask them for a sxao trunk or hood or buy a used trunk lid off a car that has damaged but is still large enough to practice on.
