It barely beads even after only 7 days. Wax and durability shouldn't be used in the same sentence.

Last thing I read from Megs was that this was a sealant, but called a wax for marketing to the masses. Generally, I get beading/protection through a good midwest winter and spring/summer cycle.

I had the same experience. The durability was questionable after 1 week.

Not questioning your integrity, but a year is pretty hard to believe.

You would be correct, I wasn’t clear in my message I don’t get a year out of it. I wax in the spring and again just before winter.

Rolling into fall I will top of with d156 as needed. I don’t usually do that in winter.

I get about 2-3 months out of the paste, similar to FK1000p. IMO the best thing about ultimate is how deep it makes your clear coat look. Also does a ok job filling in light swirls. Seems to protect paint well, no etching issues.

Megs Ultimate "Wax" didn't last much more than one car wash for me. Looks great when applied, but zero durability. In the winter, I wouldn't want to be out in the cold re-applying this every other week and would go for something stronger.

Re: Durability Test : Meguairs ultimate liquid wax

Not too surprising really. Most (not all ) waxes yield pretty much the same results when it comes to longevity. "Sealants", in my opinion are only marginally better.
From a technical standpoint, i'm sure there is still product on the vehicle. I think that's how manufacturers marketing and hype people get away with their longevity claims. However, one of the main reasons people spend the time, effort and money on these products is for the promised appearance enhancements. So frustrating to see how dismal these products perform when it comes to their durability/longevity.

Typically, I suspect most are equally frustrated.

For what its worth, the vast majority of tire and trim dressings are also a huge disappointment (and always have been).

Perhaps detailers, distributors, consumers and customers should be providing more "push-back" to manufacturers on the actual real world (not controlled laboratory) performance of these products. The ones that do perform deserve public praise and promotion, and the ones that fail must also be called out for what they are..
