The orientation doesn't really matter. The fact that they are parallel straight lines does. This looks much more like streaks or strains rather than scratches. The lines appear too wide. Scratches from a brush are going to result in circular, concentric patterns emanating from the primary light source. Was this wiped down with QD or any other drying agent type of product?

I literally went from top to bottom and watched it leave a trail of scratches. I can tell you they polished out relatively easy

This is true. I would be happy if I was wrong. And I certainly have no problem with ppl doubting or questioning me. This all part of forum participation.

Re: Speed Master Car Wash Brush (bad experience)
Sorry to see it didn't work out, but I never use a brush for anything other than wheels and tires. I've tried some brushes on long extension poles for the roof of our SUV and despite the brush being really soft, I've quit using it because of the swirls it induced to the paint.

Agree. The B pillars on my VW are insanely soft. I have to be very careful around them even when drying and doing a wipe down with very soft, clean, MF towels.

Where they a shiny black surface? I've seen glossy black painted accents on wheels from many different OEM and aftermarket vendors these days and I can't imagine how hard it will be to keep those wheels looking nice. At least a gray/silver wheel will hide the scratches and swirls for a while, but there is no hiding damage on those gloss black accents.

I'm not doubting the brush may have damaged or created an undesirable result. I am doubting that those are typical swirls that a brush would induce because of the width of the lines and the fact that they are parallel straight lines and not circular in nature.

Now I know they're delicate at best but WOW I did not expect this! This thing is going back to AG first thing Monday.

Kind of bummed about my shiny dash scratched up Bpillar 2018 F150 today :-(
And this is why I don't like all the plastic used on modern Bic cars. This type of plastic scratches very easy. It buffs out easy, but it's thin so you cannot buff on it too many times or you'll buff off the black outer shell and expose the underlying white colored plastic.
I'd contact customer care and cite this thread and I'm sure they'll take care of you.
Just a personal not of my experience with brushes. The key factor is the hardness or softness of the surface being washed. My wife's Mercedes-Benz has the Ceramiclear finish and I have used car wash brushes on it with no scratching. The old 1987 Chevy Silverado I use to own, (sold it a few months ago), it of course had a custom paint job and the paint on it was very soft. Washing it with a Boars Hair Brush easily scratched it up.
So surface hardness is as key factor.

Re: Speed Master Car Wash Brush (bad experience)
I wonder if a ceramic coating would have stopped the scratching? I've always wanted to try a brush on the cars to get around bending over but have been afraid of possible scratches.
