Blackfire Pro Detailers Choice SIO2 Spray Sealant Review

This is a reivew of Blackfire Detailers Choice SIO2 Spray Sealant. I was looking for a possible replacement for a SIO2 sealant to use on maintenance details for client's vehicles I have coated. I was looking to try something other than CarPro Reload and decided to give Blackfire Pro Detailers Choice SIO2 Spray Sealant a try. I have used in on several details of both coated and non-coated vehicles and as a stand alone sealant. So far I am very impressed with this product.

    Product Description:

BLACKFIRE SiO2 Spray Sealant will make applying a long-lasting sealant to your vehicle's paint easier and faster than ever before! BLACKFIRE SiO2 Spray Sealant boasts an extremely simple “spray-on, wipe-off” application process that will drastically reduce the amount of time it takes to properly protect your paint from the slew of environmental hazards to which it is exposed. The quality of protection you receive when using BLACKFIRE SiO2 Spray Sealant is comparable to other sealants that take 4 TIMES longer to apply to your paint. Not only will BLACKFIRE SiO2 Spray Sealant protect your paint from road film, dirt, and other common contaminants, but it will also provide impeccable long-lasting hydrophobicity that will make sure water continues to sheet and bead on your paint for months. You can use BLACKFIRE SiO2 Spray Sealant either as a stand-alone paint protection product, or it can be used to maintain your current standing protective sealant or coating.

    Cost: $47.99 for 32 ounces

    Application:

I applied Blackfire Pro Detailers Choice SIO2 Spray Sealant exactly how Mike Phillips shows in this video thread using a two towel method.

I prime one towel (folded into four squares) with Blackfire Pro Detailers Choice SIO2 Spray Sealant and lightly mist a small section. I have a second towel specifically used for only for buffing. As Mike has stated priming that towel first prevents all of the product from being absorbed and allows it to spread easier. A little goes a long way with this product so I lightly mist and concentrate on doing smaller sections. Blackfire Pro Detailers Choice SIO2 Spray Sealant leaves the finish very slick and I had no issues with streaking using the above method. I noticed that the finish tends to get glossier as the product cures and the beading is fantastic. For someone who is looking for a possible replacement to CarPro Reload or similar SIO2 spray sealants I would highly recommend giving Blackfire Pro Detailers Choice SIO2 Spray Sealant a try.

From pricing standpoint Blackfire Pro Detailers Choice SIO2 Spray Sealant seems to be a better value compared to CarPro's Reload 1 liter bottle which retails for around $60.00.

Beading used a stand alone sealant.

Pat - do you think this could be used in place of a Reload when coating a car with CQUK 3.0?

I have some CQUK3.0 left, but no more Reload. I always apply Reload within the hour after coating a car, wonder if this BF product might be a more substantial sacrificial layer to a Reload?

Nice job Pat. The beading isn't as tight as I would like to see.

I actually have a car coming back in a few weeks that I coated with 3.0. I plan to use Blackfire as a refresh instead of Reload. It definitely performs on par with with Reload as far as gloss. I have had no streaking issues on any car I have used it on. I applied it to my white Jeep Sahara as a stand alone and the car has stayed amazingly cleaner.

Excellent review! BTW, is that similar to Gyeon Wet Coat? I assume it is. But either way excellent review!

I’ll be very curious to hear your update after applying to CQUK3.0.

    Thanks!

No! The new Blackfire SiO2 Spray Sealant should be applied to a clean, dry and cool to touch paint surface. "Spray-On, Wipe-Off"
Blackfire currently doesn't offer a product like Gyeon Wet-Coat.

Thanks for the review Pat. I currently use Reload, and another brand product (whose name can't be mentioned on this forum, but begins with an "A"), and both work well. I use them both on the Viper, which has CQuartz, and on the Ram as a standalone. But, both are pretty expensive. I think instead of re-ordering Reload, I'll give this one a try.
