McKees 37 Hydro blue Sio2. Topping McKees paint coating
Ok so this is my wife's new to us 2015 expedition. I one stepped it with Uber compound when we got it then applied McKee's 37 Paint Coating. I have had good success with this inexpensive coating on a few vehicles. However the beading on my wife's car left quite a bit to be desired. The paint had hardly any slickness. Paint Coating has been on for 2 months. After coating my truck with hydro blue this weekend I just had to top my wife's car with it tonight. Here is a video of after washing and the beading with just the paint coating. Then I apply the hydro blue and you can see the incredible difference in beading. Only complaint is I've done my f250 quad cab and my wife's expedition with it and I only have a quarter bottle left. I may be applying it too heavy? Not really sure. The paint in very slick after application and I took a picture of it all dried on a dark very cloudy and rainy night and the gloss is still great.

You should be fine with 2 mist per panel and move the bottle as you spray to get more coverage

Yes. You don't need much. When you hit it with water, the silica material disperses. If you also check out Matt's thread, you can see that even a simple wipe down helps in lieu of water.

Can you send me a link to that thread? I haven't seen it.
For some reason my picture upload keeps failing so sorry no pic. I plan on updating the coating longevity on my truck with no spray sealant after washes. My wife's car will get CG v7 applied every other wash. I will keep you guys updated on the longevity.

Can the sio2 coat go over wax or have wax put over it?

According to your video technique, you are not over applying. I understand not wasting product, but you don't want to be too frugal.

Neither. Use it as a coating topper or standalone.

You can use it under or over anything you want. Longevity is gonna be compromised but it doesn't last that long anyways.

Well that sucks. I'd like to see a link to the video with wiping it over to spread it before washing. That's an interesting technique. I wonder if spraying a couple times on a panel then wiping with a wet MF towel and then rinsing would be a way to get more spread out of the product....

Well, duh. You can also mix water and oil. How will that work together?

The fact is these for daily drivers don't last more than 6-8 weeks tops for our standards. They are a great maint item. And beading falls quite a bit after weeks 3-4 typically. It's still there but not like new. Protection who knows. No real way to measure it on any product other than speculation
Expensive to use in RTU form cause the average user is going to use more any than 3 oz of product on a car.
My post of me applying it on full concentrate strength is on autopia
I have tried different application methods. The stronger the concentrate the longer it lasts.
They are great products. You got a van or large SUV you don't want to spend a ton of time hand applying anything on then yeah it's awesome ! But keep in mind might as well reapply once a month if you want visual protection and strong beading.
