Re: Review - Chemical Guys VRP
Been using this for 3 years or so. It is my go to for tires. It also works great on restoring vinyl and plastic trim. VRP is good stuff.

Thanks. I can just imagine. I don't know where he finds the time with all the other things he has going on behind the scenes that we don't see.

One of my fav's as well... can't beat price per application, quick dry to touch, no sling. Great medium satin sheen. Only knock is longevity, but not so important for me.

Quick update: I saw my brothers car today. The dressing is on it's last legs. So calling it at 3 weeks.
I am going to pay it forward and pass this along to another forum member.

Re: Review - Chemical Guys VRP
that's the thing with water based dressings is i don't expect much from them. if it lasts a few weeks (and also sticks to the tire without sling) till the next wash then that's fine with me because the car is going to get washed again anyway (tire gradually looses it's looks as the car gets dirty). i had used vrp many years ago and can't say it was any better than any other thick water based dressing out at the time. i have a gallon of the megs water based dressing (if i'm not mistaken it's discontinued in the detailer line) which is a better deal for under $20 and can be diluted 1:1 for matte finish/look. i mainly use it for wheel wells at that dilution...

Re: Review - Chemical Guys VRP
I waited 4 weeks to post this. After 4 weeks my tires still look pretty good. A little rain, a lot of sun and about 1000 miles of driving. I don't really care that much about the way my tires look but I just happened to glance down at them today getting out of the car and they look clean, dust-free and grime-free, black and still a little shiny. I plan to apply VRP again this weekend. Couldn't be more pleased with this product. Far superior to ArmorAll, for sure.

Re: Review - Chemical Guys VRP
I have the new and old bottle to be honest I really do not see any difference in them, just repackaged. I really love the way it leaves my tires just wish I could of get more longevity out of the product. In my experience it tends to last for about a week, I guess this is because the car is not garaged or covered.

Re: Review - Chemical Guys VRP
Thank for the review.
I'm looking forward to the good results on the tires.
I tried this on the trim a few weeks ago... never again.
It set for several hours before an unfortunate light rain. The rain caused the dressing to run down the paint and obviously off of the trim but in a lovely uneven pattern.

Re: Review - Chemical Guys VRP
VRP is the product I started with when I began detailing my own car, and I liked it enough to order a gallon. It lasts me around 3 weeks as well unless there is A LOT of rain. Dries to the touch, no sling, super easy to apply and adjust to gloss preferences. I tried it on trim once... looked good until it rained then it was runny and ugly.
