    looking to go back and try a coating

    So 3 years ago i tried a coating for the first time.
    I tried cquartz uk. After 2 years i could see it wearing down so i polished and went back to waxing and sealants.
    I did like the the way water beaded and sheethed however i didnt like the feel of the paint. just my OCD. i like the
    feeling of slick paint. so now i was thinking of trying another coating or trying cquartz again but this time using reload more often. I was looking at gtechniq cerum light and exo. It is more expensive than cquartz but willing to try if its worth it.
    Any thoughts or insite on these or others? thanks

    Sure...Some Coatings are not the
    "slickest feeling" of LSPs out there.

    But, perhaps, "feeling slick" shouldn't
    be placed so high up on the Coatings'
    most desirable characteristics list.

    •Instead, IMO, their ability to:
    -provide a fairly durable, and a rather
    tenacious protective film-layer;
    -shed dirt and other contamination so
    very well (vehicles stay cleaner; longer)...

    really deserves to be ranked higher
    on the Coatings' characteristics list.

    I think the feeling that is not slick leads to the extreme beading and sheeting. Anyone who has tried PNS knows whAt I'm talking about.

    Agree with Bob on this one. There are several coatings that are thick and durable that are slightly grabby. This "undesirable" characteristic goes away when topped with things like Cure, etc.

    I understand slick doesnt make it better, i definitely want something with good protection and good sheathing and also feels slick. i didn't have a problem with cquartz. i just didnt like the grabby feel it has. like i said i may go it it again and just use reload more often. thanks for you input.

    You don't like the fact that CQuartz
    is not the slickest feeling Coating out
    there---even to the point of it feeling
    grabby---and I suppose this is why
    you say you will use Reload more often.

    •However, IMO:
    -"Toppers" may add some slickness;
    but, in return: changes the functionality;
    and, what I consider to be much more
    important characteristics of a Coating.

    {Note: I do realize that this doesn't seem
    to matter to, or bother, some people in the
    same fashion as it does me.}

    Bob
    your saying it changes the functionality, i was under the assumption that toppers help the coating and give that slick feel
