    Re: Sonax Rim shield

Glad you like WGU, it works great as a RW but it works equally well as a WW too. I use 1 gallon of distilled water and 3 ounces of solution. You could probably get away with 2 ounces and I may try it like that but for now, it's e ounces for me. Kinda funny how we have cross reviews here but greatness knows no boundries😎

I think I'm going to be applying a coat of the rim shield to my wife's brothers new Edge tomorrow. This would be a great test because it's not a vehicle cleaned on a regular basis.

I actually pulled my car out and upon further inspection m6 wHEEL barrels did not come out as clean as when I used a designated wHEEL cleaner, so I recleaned the wheels, inside and out, with CG's Sticky Citrus and it's all good now.

I can still feel the coating on the wheels too, so far, so good.

I use Blackfire Metal Sealant on my chrome wheels every 6 months and use UWWP to clean them with a mf towel (never a brush).
So, will I be gaining anything by using SRS?

Well this product is supposed to give you up to 6 weeks of protection, this why I created this thread, to see if it does that. I will say it sounds like you have your process dialed in but maybe you could give this a try.

I'll wait for your results, but in my case, 6 weeks versus 6 months..numbers don't add up.
    Will still monitor your results.

Could you clear up what you mean with the 6 weeks and 6 monthes?

This application should last till the end of August but to be honest I'm not even sure how I'm supposed to know it's not working anymore, can someone from AG answer this for me? It would go a long way to determine whether or not to buy it or even consider it.

Blackfire Metal Sealant will give me 6 months, so 6 weeks for Sonax and 6 months for Blackfire.

    Re: Sonax Rim shield

I've given a couple updates already, LOL 😄 I haven't washed my car since last Sat.....OMG a week and if it wasn't so hot I would go down to the garage and do a wash and wheel cleaning. I guess the good thing is more build up on the wheels and a "good cleaning" is due up next, like 3D brake dust cleaner, this all be the 1st strong wheel cleaner used since the 1st application.
