Newbie & Wolfgang Uber Ceramic Experience
First thanks to glen e, ronkh, SgtMajUSMC and a local friend for giving me the knowledge and the courage to try doing my first nano coating. Not saying that I haven't also learned a ton here from other smart and helpful folks on this forum, but for a newbie to take a brand new car, and start doing 100% paint cleaning/treatment/correction (all 8 million steps -- or so it seemed), all the way through a nano coating can be a daunting experience (at least emotionally).
Thanfully due to all of their and others' help, idea and knowledge, it went terrifically, though lucky to live in the Pacific Northwest were I was able to do the entire nano coating today between 60 and 70 degrees, with the humidity averaging about 70%.
Using Wolfgang Uber Ceramic was truly easy (though it was a shame to buy a bunch of new microfibers and use them only once). Used the two step MF removal process to insure no left over product, and did not have any streaking or other problems. Especially appreciate everyone's advice to not use much product, not to do too large an area at once. Following those two "mantras," it was truly a very easy project. Did not encounter one single issue.
The car, a 2017 WRX in Ice Silver Metallic, looks terrific, though the factory paint was really good to start with, needing only mild polishing with a finishing pad and Wolfgang Glaze 3.0. Liked Wolfgang Protekt too.
Only complaint is that I have enough Glaze, Protekt and UC left over, that I could (and should) have gotten the smallest quantities of each. With some of the latter, decided that in a few days when my new LC applicators arrive, to also do the windows and door sills. Now what to do with the leftover CarPro IronX, a lightly used NanoSkin AutoScrub fine mitt, etc? Oh yes, will even have extra LC applicators soon. LOL
Thanks again everyone.

Glad it went well. I'll be using this on my wife's car in a few weeks.
Waste mf? Can't you throw these into a bucket of water and then reuse? At least for jambs or interiors?

Hi ! Got any pics of the finished product?
For coatings, I use the stuff from Costco or sams and pitch em after.

Re: Newbie & Wolfgang Uber Ceramic Experience
Why do some coatings harden on the applicators/towels and others do not? In my mind all coatings should harden the applicators.

Re: Newbie & Wolfgang Uber Ceramic Experience
The quartz content is what hardens the applicators. The ceramic or nano or whatever other coatings claim to be apparently don't.

That's a great way to save a couple bucks, but I would be VERY watchful for lint (only noticeable with an inspection light).
