Wolfgang Perfekt Paint Prep quick thoughts...

I've used a good amount of "panel wipes", mainly for removing polishes oils/fillers to inspect my paintwork. I also will use this for prepping for wax or sealants. Ironically, I don't use coatings.

Anyhow, one of the most important things I look for with these types of products is easy wipe off and not grabby. That would defeat the purpose of perfectly polished paint, otherwise. WPP is a joy to use. It's not grabby upon wipeoff and you don't need to soak the panel. Smells good, too. I'll usually spray, buff with one towel, then a quick wipe with a second towel(this step isn't always needed). WPP is a solid product and my favorite "panel wipe" Also, it doesn't leave anything behind, unlike another product I've used for this purpose. By the way, only use on cool paint and out of direct sunlight.

I would concur with your feeling on this product. It leaves a nice smooth (non grabby) surface. I found the BF Crystal Coat Prep very similar.

Funny thing about a product of this nature and similar products like Carpro Eraser is the eye cant see if its actually doing what it is supposed to. Just have to have faith

Great to hear. I purchased this last year during one of the Holiday sales. Be using it as soon as it gets warmer.

Strong lights can reveal something remaining on the paint. Thats why I use IPA, 50% because I've seen residue with other 'prep' products. Its possible that residue might not interfere with the coating, actually it could be a catalyst I suppose, but Id rather be safe than sorry.

How do you think it compares to Optimum Paint Prep? I currently have that in my cart but would take it out for Wolfgang!
    Back to the full-time grind.

The residue you're describing is not left by the paint prep product, but by the (oily) polish instead. Whenever I'm using a paint prep type of product, two applications are performed just as extra precautionary measure to ensure everything has been removed.

50% IPA solution is very strong and can have damaging affects on painted surfaces. I would be extremely careful.
