Re: New Flex Tool XFE 7 - 15mm Long Stroke Free Spinning Orbital Polisher
So the 3401 being direct driven is still the more powerful machine?
Re: New Flex Tool XFE 7 - 15mm Long Stroke Free Spinning Orbital Polisher
Unfortunately, at least for me, a disappointment. I am sure the machine is very well made, will withstand punishment and such, but did they really bring anything new to the market or is Flex just catching up and will still be possibly behind Rupes in the development of the Long Throw machines.
We won't know until the specs are out and the machine tested but for me, I have two flexes already and am probably in the market for the Mark II as the extra torque plus smoothness is the only thing I would be looking for. Clearly will wait until the reviews but my first reaction was ok, where is the mini dual action polisher forced rotation.

I'll say I'm a bit on the disappointed side as well as I was hoping for a smaller 3401 that took 3" pads, but that's my fault for having those expectations. The XFE 7, that makes sense for Flex to have. We know they are THE brand to go with, yet they didn't, technically, have a competing product. They do now and, although it is extremely early to speculate, I have confidence this will be the long-throw DA to grab in the future. The guys who held out on their GG or Rupes purchases have to be so extremely happy right now.
Still, I want my smaller 3401.

I was hoping for the mini dual action polisher forced rotation as well.

Apparently there are two machines that have been introduced? Who knows right now. Would love to get some solid information on what's been announced.

Wonder how much improvement can be made to the XCE over the 3401?
