Maybe if my vehicles were coated, I'd try it up against McKees SiO2 wash to see if it really is three times better, because it costs three times as much (per gallon), and twice as much if you buy the 16oz size.
I like McKees Si02 Because you can use it in the sun.

Very nice review Mike. That looks fresh!

Looks like a fantastic offering from Wolfgang and works wonders. .

Im a big time Waterless Wash user and just got ahold of the Si02 Waterless Wash from Wolfgang. Will get after it very soon and see how it works out.

Their Sio2 Auto wash is $15 on sale, same size. Not questioning Mikes excitement but for the price comparison smh.

Re: KILLER CAR WASH - Wolfgang Uber SiO2 Coating Wash

I have a gallon of Mckees SiO2 that I’ve been using for quite some time. It’s a pleasant soap to use and does contain trace amounts of SiO2, but it certainly doesn’t cause beading like what Mike’s review shows.

I have a bottle of the WG that I will be using once the weather clears and will report back. I plan to use it on my SiO2 sprayed cars, but more exciting, I hope to have a new vehicle in the next week or so... If so I’ll plan on using WG coating soap on the unprotected, contaminated paint to see standalone results prior to doing a full correction on my hopeful new-to-me vehicle.

McKee’s soap is not designed to leave protection that beads.

    Per Nick

I completely agree, Guz. I remember you showing this exact text conversation in an old thread (one I may have started). I was just trying to point out that these can’t really be compared apples to apples, and therefore comparing costs isn’t really fair.

No doubt WG is pricey, but I’m not aware of any similar shampoos to compare it with (maybe loosely to something like Enigma wash, but can’t say for sure as I haven’t used it).

Good point. Looking forward to seeing how this pans out.

I wish something costing 3 times more money made it work three times as well. Does the mckees product actually leave any protection behind? I see it fills cracks in the coating. I'm def going to pick some up because of being able to use it in the sun. Thats a very nice feature. I was unaware of this product

So how does this product fill in cracks? Also do you know what he means about washing everyday? Is he saying what it leaves behind only lasts a day?

I believe Nick is saying it has a very small amount of SiO2 that fills tiny nano-cracks with SiO2 to repair and enhance shine, but the trace amounts of SiO2 aren’t enough to protect unless you used it constantly (probably the same way a low solids QD could be done).

My takeaway, don’t plan on using it as standalone protection for any useful amount of time, but expect some nice shine right after. It’s a great soap and value for what it is.
