Just put another coat on the ZR2 today. It does pack a glassy look!
Great thread. Read it all.
I have 3 available "paint prep" options. Mother's 1, Mother's #2 or Blackfire AIO. Would any of these be appropriate to use before trying the Blackfire SiO2 spray?
Coming into winter, so great time to compare the Blackfire SiO2 on the Stelvio to Blackfire AIO/Collinite 845 on the RRS. Want to see how each surface cleans off after a 750 mile winter trip through all the nastiness. To me, all these finishes look great when fresh. I want to see how they recvover from real world abuse!!
Had to re-edumucate myself on what these product are by reading their descriptions here,
Mothers Ultimate Wax System includes Mothers California Gold Carnauba Waxes, Sealer Glaze & Mothers Pre-Wax Cleaner.
The #1 is a non-abrasive paint cleaner, the #2 is a non-abrasive polish.
Both will work.
The BF One Step will do what both of the above will do plus remove swirls, scratches, water spots and oxidation plus leave the surface protected.
:)
Yes the AIO will replace the 1&2 in the future. Was VERY impressed with it on the Range Rover.
Sounds like I should not use the Blackfire AIO prior to Blackfire Si02 sealant because it has a protection layer? I am entering 2020 with decreasing reluctance!
Halve a half bottle of 1&2 left, so want to know about the AIO when they are goneAttachment 68340
BTW, for years the #2 was swirl remover/glaze. Did a great job removing the semi annual carwash/life marks from 6 months
You can use BF AIO prior to BF SiO2 Sealant Spray. The spray is fine going on top of other sealants, especially BF sealants (I’m sure they share similar polymers). But if you want to see the spray on it’s own vs. BF AIO/845 then use the Mothers stuff. If you want to compare BF SiO2 Spray vs 845 as toppers, I would go with BF AIO.
My opinion regardless is that BF AIO topped with BF SiO2 Spray will be a nice combo.
THANK YOU FOR MAKING IT ALL CLEAR!!! This will be a very cool comparison this winter.
For what it's worth I many times remove my polishing residue with a spray sealant. This saves me time and adds extra protection. I normally do this with PNS or IG premier
