I think the reason is real simple, there's more fiber MASS enabling the mass of fibers to hold more water.

I have 2 of these and it took a bit getting used to;no wringing them out.

If these are better than the Griot's PFM, I would love to hear any comparisons.........

Review: The Big Blue Drying Towel

I’d be extremely impressed if they beat Griot’s PFM

Re: Review: The Big Blue Drying Towel

I can only compare to my Cobra guzzlers which I give the slight edge to. However I do use the Big Blue (to mix things up a bit) as I tend to pat dry and thus seems to be a gentler drying process (I do blow dry most water off the car prior to any towel drying)

The big blue is nice but it’s to thick to manipulate compared to something like Griot’s PFM, Gyeon Silk Dyer, CarPro DHydrate. It also gets heavier than the ones I mentioned.

    The GFM is still better.

Is it really thicker? After all Griots Garage PFM Terry Weave is 1120 GSM and Big Blue Drying Towel is 1200 GSM

    Mike mentioned this earlier.

Griots Garage PFM Terry Weave 1120 GSM.
    Closed loop nap.
More stout feel and more like terrycloth compared to the Big Blue Drying Towel.
These types of microfiber towels are not soft and limp but more stout or course. They are still GENTLE to paint surfaces because they use microscopic fibers as compared to cotton fibers used to make terrycloth, (like a bath towel), so they keep you from working backwards when wiping off compound.

Big Blue Drying Towel 1200 GSM
Open nap, not a closed loop.
Softer feel, more like fleece than terrycloth.

The Guzzler Waffle Weave are way thinner (e.g. 350 GSM) and less prone to contamination due the flat weave of the material.

Better because it holds more water due to it's size (e.g. 25x35)?
On paper, Griots Garage PFM Terry Weave is actually lighter/thinner with closed loop nap design, which is more prone to contamination, no?

Better in overall performance and yes you get includes water absorption. I gave my big blue towels away to other forum members. You can find my review on them here in this forum.

The guzzlers are nice for glass.

Re: Review: The Big Blue Drying Towel

The Grey PFM’s of any size are THE BEST drying towels out there. They just touch water and make the surface dry. No constant wiping, patting or any of that. Just use matador method and let the towel do it’s thing!
