Nick's always bringing me cool stuff to test out and play with. I can never show everything until it's released but here's something that's both released and cool!



The Griot's Garage Detailing Cart





What makes this car different from others?

First... the hidden feature... extra bracing under the handle to fortify and strengthen the handle so it wont crack and break like similar carts. For me this was the key feature. When I would grab the handle it felt a lot more rigid than other carts? So I looked underneath the handle and found out why.

Here's a shot of the underneath of the handle side of the cart. I have the flash on to light up the reinforcement structures.





And in the shots below I've cropped out the sections that show how the handle is reinforced both in the handle and where it attaches to the cart.






The cart "holds" things and any cart can do that... but YOU grab the handle over and over and over again and take my word for it, it's this simple design improvement to the Griot's Detailing Cart that makes it worth choosing over other car options.



Built-in Power Strip
Here's the next thing I like about the car and that's how Griot's came up with the idea to build into the handle an electrical POWER STRIP!






With this built in 15 amp power strip you an plug up to three tools directly into the cart.







Long plug in cord

The power strip comes with a 14.5' cord which means that once plugged in you can easily push and position the cart to the front, side or back of your car and then run your tools from the cart instead of using extension cords. AND just as important the power cord is a heavy gauge cord so there's no risk to your tools electronics do to too light of gauge wiring.







It's like a helping hand in the garage

And of course the other thing that's handy about the cart is that it's a cart! Yeah that's right! load it up with your tools, pads and products and take them to where you're working instead of walking back and forth from your work bench to the car wasting time and taking hundreds of extra step.

What's in the box?

Let's take a look at what comes in the box and the correct way to assemble your new Griot's Garage Detailing Cart!


First there's the box....





Here's all the components that come in the box separated out on some tables...





This is the bottom tray and the tray you will insert the caster wheels into...





The second set of tubes separates the bottom tray from the middle tray...





And then the top tray...





And then there's the 14.5 power strip, attachment screws and bracket...





This is the shaft on the bottom of the caster wheel and the little clip is called a compression clip.





You're going to press this into the hole on one corner of the bottom of the bottom tray. Sometimes you may need to squeeze the compression clip a little with a set of pliers if it's too expanded.






You can also spray a little oil lube on the shaft and compression ring and then smack the wheel into the hole using a rubber or plastic hammer.





Here's what the bottom tray will look like after you have pounded in all 4 caster wheels. Be sure to place the locking wheels onto either the front or back of the bottom tray.





Next align the tubes onto the dowels of the bottom tray and pound them in till they bottom out.




Next align the dowels on the middle tray to the tubes on the bottom tray an then pound the tray into the tubes till the tray bottoms out.











Then repeat the insertion of the next set of tubes onto the middle tray and then align and assemble the top tray onto these tubes.




Here's what the car will look like after you have assembled the wheels, tubes and trays.





Next, turn the cart upside down to install the power strip.






There are two holes where the power strip bracket attaches to hold the power strip in place.








Insert the power strip into the slot under the handle with the outlets pointing outward. Then lock it into place by attaching the bracket with the included screws and a Phillips screw driver.









Next use the included zip-tie to affix the cord to the underneath of the handle using an included screw. There's no pre-drilled hole for this but there is an area of extra plastic material where you can screw in the screw to hold the zip-tie in place.





This simply prevents the cord from being yanked at the end of the power strip.





And you're ready to get to work!

Oh i am in love, Thats the cart Jeff Brown had in the videos showcasing the Boss System.

Had no idea it had a 3 way eletric outlet, that thing is pretty sweet, i have to get my hands on this.

This in on my long list of items needed for the new shop, Mike! I like that I can have 2 tools plugged in as well as the Rupes Nano battery charger. I may end up modding mine a little to hold a pad washer like you've done in the past and possibly a few other ideas.

Wait till I post a new tool review today... I use it for my air tools and my RUPES Nano iBrid and accessories...

I may end up modding mine a little to hold a pad washer like you've done in the past and possibly a few other ideas.

Having a dedicated pad washer cart is great. I don't like bending over and holding the pad washer bucket between my shoes to stabilize it when cleaning a pad plus I simply don't like bending over. So a dedicated pad washer cart is super handy for a pad washer. But you really want a cart without the hole for the bucket and without WATER just to avoid any electrical risks when multi-tasking with your cart. Once you set a cart up for a pad washer thus you have water in the bucket you really need a second and even third cart for tools, pads and products.

I also use a car for my rinseless wash bucket. Again... don't like bending over to grab pre-soaked microfiber towels if I can simply grab one out of a bucket suspended on a car. I'll try to take pictures and share our cart collection in the garage.

That's definitely on my radar to get!

I use my cart EVERY DAY. Right now I'm shuffling microfiber towel laundry from the washer and dryer back to the garage where after the towels are folded they're stored in cabinets. Heck sometimes I use my cart to take my lunch to the breakroom to heat it up in the microwave.
