At a recent RUPES Detailing Class here at Autogeek I had a chance a long with about 12 other people to test out the new RUPES P808 Protective Sealant and M606 Rapid Cleaner Detailer. If you like RUPES long stroke orbital polishers you're going to love these two new products.


M606 Rapid Cleaner Detailer

Behind the scenes story
Our training car was dirty. Not 4x4 mud bog dirty but it was covered with dirt and dust and not just a light film but the kind of built-up film that comes from parking your car outside 24 x 7 as the owner of this project car does. Because we're going to machine polish the paint to remove swirls and scratches, (also with RUPES tools, compounds and polishes), before anything else we had to get the car clean and remove any loose dirt and the dirt film that had built up on the exterior the car.

Impressions
The RUPES M606 Rapid Cleaner Detailer EASILY removed all the loose dirt and film off the exterior paint, glass and chrome trim. Application is as easy as pie. Simply mist the product on and then wipe it off. M606 Rapid Cleaner Detailer is formulated to remove smudges, dust or light surface impurities between normal car washes and this product had no problem getting this car clean.

Packaging
The product comes in a black 500ml bottle inside a box with a sprayer and one microfiber towel. The sprayer does a great job of atomizing the product instead of simply squirting the product like inexpensive spray nozzles. Then is great because you get more bang for you buck when you can lay out a large but even spray pattern of product when cleaning a car.


Fragrance
No noticeable scent but nothing that makes you want to cry either.


I give this product 5 stars and two thumbs up.





P808 Protective Sealant
Behind the scenes story
Or training car had NOT been waxed for the almost 2 years! The owner washed this car regularly but only with water and had never applied any car wax or other type of protection since purchasing it out of fear of using the wrong product. The paint was rough with contaminants and filled with swirls and scratches. We used the RUPES orbital polishers, (all of them), plus the RUPES compounds and polishes to undo years of neglect and damage and to restore a perfect finish.

Now that the paint had been perfected with compounds and polishes, (water soluble), we needed to do three things,

1. Seal the surface
2. Protect the surface
3. Create a deep, wet shine.


To accomplish these three goals we used the RUPES P808 Protective Sealant and the results blew me away. Blew my class away. Blew the owner away and they're going to blow you away too when you see the before and after pictures!


Impressions
The Rupes P808 Protective Sealant is a spray-on synthetic or man-made protectant that replaces a traditional carnauba paste wax or liquid synthetic paint sealant, (the lotion type). Because it comes as a thin liquid it works best to spray it , spread it around and then give that section of paint a light final buff to reveal a crisp, hard dry shine that is glossy as well as deep and reflective. One use of this product and not only will the results impress you but ease-of-use will make it you new go-to product for maintaining your car after a normal wash or after using the M606 Rapid Cleaner Detailer.

It will also become your new Date Night detailer because it's so fast and easy to use and get your car ready to show off on a Friday or Saturday night.j

Fragrance
Like the M606 the P808 has no detectable fragrance but nothing to make you want to dry either. Knowing the folks at RUPES as closely as I do my guess is the person in charge of RUPES products is more interested in function over form and that mean they are more interested in providing you products where the emphasis is on performance not glitzy marketing hype.


I give this product 5 stars and and two thumbs up.

Do you know if their protective sealant will rival the durability of traditional paste/liquid sealants? Or is it more in par with other spray waxes?

I'd say it's more of a dedicated protectant, so "yes" it will last longer and protect longer than average spray waxes.
