badly repainted 62 T-bird
I posted some pics before about how to try and fix this thing. Well, I couldn't, I tried but didn't want to make things worse. Its a 62 all original with 43,xxx on it, only thing is, some guy repainted it in the garage. There were some BAD spots, don't know what they were, how they got there but bad. First I tried a blue hybrid with Menz 300, no dice, both styles of orange peel pad with menz 300 and finally I tried sanding with trizact 3000 and it really didn't make much of a dent. I was able to soften the spots but not remove them. There were drip marks here and there and they weren't paying for a full out sanding. I settled with Menz 2500 on a blue pad, sealed with deep gloss paint sealant. Chrome was hit with wool and menz 2500 or white lightening on a power ball.
Process was rinsless via ONR, wheels and tires where ACP followed by good ole bleach white. After the wash, a wipe down with medium grade speedy prep towel then onto the aforementioned Menz 2500 on a blue pad with a flex for the larger areas, 3" bp on a GG unit with a 3" blue hydro pad for the small areas.
So here is what I started with:
Bumper with unknown runs:

Just plain ole faded paint:

Here are the afters, not many, and not good but the paint did get a nice wet look, the owners picked it up while I was on another job so I wasn't home but were ecstatic.

Car is up for sale if anyone is looking, the owner, the second owner at that, passed away and his widow is selling it.
