Cars & Coffee Tech Session
This month's topic for our detailing tech session was how to machine wax your car. Most everyone knows how to wax a car by hand but I went over the benefits of machine waxing using the Porter Cable 7424XP and the Griot's Garage 3" Mini Polisher for tight intricate areas and thin panels.

This 1939 Chevy 5-window Coupe arrived completely dull with severe oxidation. We used this car in my May Detailing Boot Camp Class to teach the class how to remove oxidation and restore a show car finish using a Flex 3401 Forced Rotation Dual Action Polisher.
Now the car has a super smooth and glossy show car finish and that's the perfect finish for a demonstration car when showing how to machine apply a finishing wax like Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax.

With 3.5" foam waxing pads on the Griot's 3" Mini Polisher you can place the pad into the jar of wax, blip the on/off switch a couple of times really quickly to get some wax on the face of the pad and you're ready to machine wax.

Here's a volunteer from the audience trying out machine waxing for the first time. From his smile I'm guessing he likes it!

I also went over tips and techniques for carefully removing a wax using microfiber towels while wearing microfiber gloves.
http://www.autogeekonline.net/galler...Coffee_028.jpg
And of course, machine waxing is not only faster but does a better job of laying down a thin, uniform layer of wax for show car results on any car....

The chance to learn how to machine polish paint on a 1965 Pontiac GTO. Now that's a rare opportunity.

The 1941 Buick Convertible WILL be in the upcoming September class as it needs a good de-swirling.
