Ok... Foam CANNONS, GPM or PSI ? for thicker foam
Hello, I found about 20 Different threads on Autogeek and other forums but NO ONE gives the right answers...
People just Get Confused.
The Question is, When using a foam Cannon, What is needed for the best Foam?
High PSI? High GPM?
How much would be the "Good rate" ? I've seen people saying 2000 psi + is enough, some saying more, some saying less...
There are many experts here, I am sure someone here knows the answer!
Have a great weekend!!
Re: Ok... Foam CANNONS, GPM or PSI ? for thicker foam
( Side note, I am thinking of buying a 2800 PSI Karcher washer. )
Is it possible that this Karcher ( that costs about 600$ - 700$ ) is 2800 PSI and only something like 2.5GPM ???? Is that ok ?
and I am asking this because I could buy a:
2800 Psi + 2.45GPM
OR
2350 PSI + 2.65GPM ( 25% Cheaper )
What would be better ?
Re: Ok... Foam CANNONS, GPM or PSI ? for thicker foam
From what I've read you should stick to under 2600 psi and under 2.5 gpm

Go with Higher psi in this case in my opinion, although both matter.
Re: Ok... Foam CANNONS, GPM or PSI ? for thicker foam
Both machines are compatible with the mtm hydro btw

Great thanks!
I will go with the 2800 One.
I am thinking of buying the Autogeek Hp cannon because of the fitting, there is a special one just for Karcher ( even 2 ).
I don't really know if I could fit MTM to Karcher ( I might, But I am not sure, and I don't Live in the U.S so I can't take risks =/ )
Do you know anything about that ?
Thank you! So much help! :dblthumb2::dblthumb2:
Re: Ok... Foam CANNONS, GPM or PSI ? for thicker foam
From what I've gathered, basically, a consumer grade electric pressure washer($100-$200) will never produce the same suds/viscosity that a gas powered one will. You can find commercial grade electrics for a pretty penny that produce the same (ballpark of) specs you'd need but you could do the same with a gas powered for $3-500 less.
Apparently the MTM Hydro lists operating paramaters of 2.0-5.3 GPM and no more than 5000 PSI, with a minimum I believe of 1800, though I can't find that anywhere currently, we can assume 2000 to be safe though.

Would a MTM fit to a Karcher Electric washer?
I know the HP foam cannon has a special fitting just for Karcher washers...
MTM doesn't say anything about fitting to a washer... ( weird )
