Re: middle east branch ??

-
Re: middle east branch ??
im not sure what do u mean
do u mean that im an american living in bahrain ? no.
i was born and live in bahrain
and the reason i asked the question earlier is that i am an autogeek!
and i wanna try a lot of those items which we dont have in my country the only thing we have is meguiars and not all the new ones
and if happened by chance that i open a detailing shop<-- my ambition featuring and representing autogeek items specially ((dual action polishers))

Re: middle east branch ??
aah ok! i was just wondering due to your avatar is all, and yes an expat is a person from another country living and working in another place. imo i would email nick@autogeek and see if they have a distributor list, what i have done is look at different (bigger)manufacturers websites for distributor information, try sonax if they sell sonax they might sell other brands worth a shot and alot of care care products local are not at a "detailing store" they will be in a store that sells automotive accessories. and if you have the money you could become a distributor of PBMG products(wolfgang, diamondite, detailers pro, cobra, montana brushes, pinnacle ect ect)

Re: middle east branch ??
Hi all! Im an expat here in Jeddah KSA, and I also find it hard to get my hands on many products that has been talk about here over and over. Although I have a tub of S100 wax that I got from a Harley Davidson shop here. Aside from S100 I currently have Autoglym(not impressive), Meguiars U-QD, Mothers QD,... I guess thats it. The only I shop that I know here that sells Detailing products is SACO, its like an ACE Hardware store. But even they don't have a good selection.
I'm particularly interested in the Original Forum Favorite Kit and plenty of microfibers...and not interested in the high shipping cost
still trying to find a way to get OFFK or any good products mentioned here while cutting down on shipping expense... any ideas?

Re: middle east branch ??
Sounds like a great opportunity for someone to become a Middle East distributor!

Re: middle east branch ??
I finally got Megs UC and Scratch X 2.0!!! Hurray Im the MAN ... and now the search for clay bars :work:

Re: middle east branch ??
Hi guys, I am also based in Jeddah. And it is a nightmare trying to find any decent auto detailing products here.
I do try and import stuff from Us when I can. Did you guys find DA polishers here? And where?
@Jimshey, Where did you find Megs Ultimate range?

If it made logical sense and profit I'm sure someone had either attempted to try it.

To much logistics cost,it would cost 38.50 to ship a iPad from us to Saudi Arabia.

There is a reason why I bet meguairs did a lot of rd research and development and marketing and found out it was probably more of a headache and didn't meet there minimum profit guidelines .shipping there is out of control.and a lot of products are flammable, and if so tack on another 20 dollars.

A lot of flammeable items are imported Into Saudi Arabia every month, so that cant be the reason. The nonexistent size of the market is probably the main reason behind lack of detailers shops.
As such, ArmorAll products are quite easily available in Saudi Arabia. I have also found Megs, and Autoglym at times in Saco stores although without any consistencies.
Once again, any chance I can find a half decent Da Polisher plus pads etc in Jeddah? I dont know where to search for it، and never seen them in Saco. Someone can save me from importing it from US or UK.

I understand what you are saying,a da from us to Saudi would you pay a extra 50.00 or more for shipping, and the answer from probably a vast majority of auto care users would probably say no.so the end result is the cost burden of shipping customs etc.Im sure Saco looked into the possible opportunities as well as Meg's and there are to many loophole to get around to make a decent profit.obviously there are flammable liquids shipped there, but the products they ship can absorb the cost being that there's more profit.usually a bottle of wax that cost 20.00 the dealer pays 8.00 to inventory it,so there is a very little profit,to be made when you incur all the taxes and shipping and to keep a business profitable.so that's why Saudi will never obtain all the goods we have.ag has to offer discounts every other day to get rid of inventory, that model would not work when dealing in overseas sales.

Re: middle east branch ??
I'm in U.S. Google clay in your region easily obtained along with coating etc, with all the expensive cars there, has to be a distributor locally within a 70 mi radius .ceramic coating is used like crazy over there.

Re: middle east branch ??
If there are any pro detailers near you, maybe talk to them and find out how they source supplies.

Re: middle east branch ??
I'm not from Saudi but close enough (Dubai). There is a Saudi supplier for all Meguiars products. I know this because "Meguiars Middle East" office in Sharjah, UAE , had to get 2 items I want from Saudi because they were out of stock in Dubai. You can leave them a message on their facebook page or give them a call and they will send you the details for the Saudi supplier :xyxthumbs:
Local store Ace Hardware has a full stock of Meguiars products (consumer line) but at almost twice the price of Meguairs Middle East.
However, I still buy everything I want from AGO when there is a sale. You could use freight forwarders such as
1. Aramex - shop and ship
2. MyUS
Their rates are not bad at all and many of my friends in Saudi use MYUS.
I find them a LOT cheaper than using USPS (united states postal service) and your things get here within 3 days from the day they arrive at the respective US offices. They also offer live tracking which USPS does not.
For example my first order was sent from AGO using the "international shipping" method, I paid $89 for shipping and it took 3+ weeks to arrive.
The next 4 times I used Aramex shop n ship and Aramex received it in 2 working days and I received in 3 days after that - total of 5 days, and as reference my last shipment cost $40 :D
Hope this helps. :)

I was able to find a local supplier in Dubai for Flex polishers where i purchased my flex 3401 VRG for AED / SAR 1500 ($407)
As for pads and other things I needed, all from AGO
I've been buying from AGO for over a year now. It costs less than buying locally in Dubai (a small handful of brands)....and I can get whatever products I want from AGO with no limit to brands.
Win - win
You can contact RAMY 4x4 in Dubai for Rupes polishers.

Thanks for pointing this out to me.
At the moment, they only appear to have the Rupes Bigfoot range, which is out of my budget. I have sent them a message to see what else can they supply, and whether they would ship to Jeddah.

Re: middle east branch ??
Hey, By the way I am in touch with Sonax, 3D and Flex distributor in Saudi Arabia. Don't worry they are same people. Surprisingly, their prices are very reasonable, compared even to AG for the items they have available...
-
Re: middle east branch ??
This is a old thread back in December 2015, I can find plenty of products over there , especially coatings take your time and do some research.

Coatings are available to dealers who are certified to apply them.
Cquartz is one of them, followed by Gtechniq and Ceramic pro, followed by plenty others who apply a "ceramic coating" without stating names.
One offers Opti coat but I know for a fact he buys them from the US in bulk.
The only coatings i've come across available commercially to the general public are 22ple & Gtechniq.
You could shed some light on said mysterious organizations that offer coatings for sale in this region if you know them so well....Thanks :) :)

Re: middle east branch ??
Spending a lot of years of my life in the Mid East, I always wondered what products would stand up to real elements like the summers and sandstorms. I feel like product companies should use that environment for R&D because it really is rough on vehicles

I know that some US companies use Arizona and S Cali for testing.

Hi Babar, try to contact them, I believe they are the main dealer for middle east.
