Note: The target market for this new pad system is for high-end detailers that tend to only use new clean pads for each detailing project they tackle. There is a learning curve to this new pad/backing plate system but once you get accustomed to the thinner foam pad with the cushioned backing plate you can achieve results like a pro.
Here's the complete 1 Pad System but it's actually two lines in one... there's the 1-Pad System which includes the wool pads and the CCS Foam Pads with a *New* Hybrid Orange Cutting pad and there's the two pad, Hydro-Tech foam pad system for people that love the Hydro-Tech foam formulas.

The Two Pad, Hydro-Tech foam Pad System

The entire system is patented and centers, (no pun intended), around the unique patented Tri-Density "Cushioned" Plate.

The upper yellow backing is high density foam, the black core is medium density foam and the red face is low density foam.

It also compresses easily under pressure...

Total width of the backing plate is approximately 1 1/4"

The Velcro interface measures approximately 5 3/4" in diameter and the overall width is approximately 6 1/2" in diameter.

The Velcro Interface on the back of the wool cutting pads measures approximately 4 3/4" in diameter.

Here again you can see the bowel shape design of the back of the pads that helps to self-center the pads onto the backing plate.

The hook-n-loop interface measures approximately 3 5/8" in diameter.

Here's some pictures of the new Hybrid Cutting Pad next to the Tangerine Hydro-Tech Polishing Pad, note the darker color. This pad with a cutting compound is said to be able to remove down to #1500 grit sanding marks and polish out LSP ready...
(Personal preference of course as to what LSP ready is)

This is a hybrid pre-polymer specially designed for Lake Country. It is more aggressive than our standard orange foam formula. Eric says this is a very unique foam pad that he thinks is really going to become popular.

The high radius sides help insure that you don't run the backing plate or non-buffing portion of the buffing pad into any raised body lines or edges...

I didn't get that information... I suspect a lot of people will re-use them... I just posted the information that came with the pads...
Kind of fun when you get to work in the morning and there's a mystery box on your desk...
I'll try to do some sanding and buffing test tomorrow if time allows... supposed to get some more mystery boxes in tomorrow...
:D

Cheap, as in 25 cents each OR LESS. By the time I throw away a regular pad I have gotten at least 100 uses out of it. Maybe even more.

I sent the link to this thread to Eric Dunn so I'm sure he'll value everyone's feedback.
That's something that is incredibly valuable to companies with staff wise enough to listen to end-users...

Being that the 1-Pad System is marketed to those detailers that already treat normal pads as one-time-use, this will likely be a great savings at any price reduction. If you do everything you can to get the longest life from your pads, these might not be a good option. We'll see once they are released...
I like the idea of the backing plate providing consistent pressure. The thick foam of normal pads tends to "soften up" after a few passes. I could see an advantage with 1-Pad there.
