Car Show Information
Hello Everyone,
I have an "odd" question. I want to put together a large car show here in Deep South Texas. Most of the cars, right, down here are classic vehicles or trucks. What I WANT TO DO IS put on a car show for Sports and Luxury cars ONLY!!!! No trucks.
Has anyone ever done this? If so, how did you create a score sheet. I have some things in my mind but, I would like to see if any of you have ever done this OR have competed in such an event.
Thanks!!!! Feed back please

Re: Car Show Information
First thing you need to do is attend a few of such shows elsewhere and see how they are run. The ones that are successful are that way for a reason. You aren't going to be able to put up some flyers and get people to come - especially a specialized crowd like what you want.
It's a lot of work.

Re: Car Show Information
Find a location
Then Find Someone to sell food
Next Get your Local Performance shops to have flier at their shop
Join Luxury 4 Play and 6 Speed and post on there
Join local racing and car forum post on there
Have a local DJ for music
Admission should be around 15 to 20 a car entering in the show
have a couple diffrent classes and get trophies or placks made for the winners

The Louisville Concours d'Elegance
This one was around my area. I am not sure if the site will help but I figured I would post it. The show had nothing but exotics and luxury cars like you want. One thing I know they did that you may try is they got a few high end dealers(Bugatti,Lambo...etc) to bring in some very nice cars.

Re: Car Show Information
Find a location - Found one. One of my very good clients office. He has the Jag, BMW and about 7 other vehicles and knows MANY PEOPLE here in the Rio Grande Valley. Client owns a propane and fuel business down here. :xyxthumbs:
Then Find Someone to sell food - Might have my step-brother-in-law make some food and sell it. He is one heck of a BBQ Cook. He ran a resturant.
Next Get your Local Performance shops to have flier at their shop - Those really do not exist down here. There are trucks and classic events all over the valley.
Join Luxury 4 Play and 6 Speed and post on there - Hmmm.... I will have to think about that one.
Join local racing and car forum post on there - Already done.
Have a local DJ for music - Might just get a nice local radio & tv station
Admission should be around 15 to 20 a car entering in the show - Correct. I also want to get some of the local car dealerships involved. I have two so far and they are the only two I've spoken to. Im the MANI just need to figure out how much I want to charge THEM for showing only ONE new vehicle in the Sport & Luxury Class.
have a couple diffrent classes and get trophies or placks made for the winners - Yep. Still thinking about what classes I want. I'm not going to chose the winners. I will let the crowds chose the winners.

Re: Car Show Information
You'll need insurance. Liability, Special Event, and maybe some other. You'll have to check with a broker. If you're the one "hosting" the event, and something happens, you're the one they're going to sue.
