The backstory...
Back in September of 2019 - when Griot's was introducing the new G9 - 9mm Random Orbital Polisher, I was sent one from my good friend Doug Hodge, (we go back to our Meguiar's days), to test out and review.

Tonneau Cover Detail
The vehicle you see in the background belongs to a good friend named Ike. I've detailed this El Camino for Ike and also his 1971 Nova SS. After doing all the paint correction for the El Camino the restored black finish really made the dull, lifeless vinyl tonneau cover took away from the overall look of the car. So while it was here I detailed the tonneau cover also.
Check this out... without context, it looks normal. And the reason it looks "normal" is because tonneau covers normal take the full brunt of Mother Nature because they tend to be a LARGE HORIZONTAL surface exposed to direct sunlight and every type of inclement weather. Plus all the air-borne pollution and industrial fallout in the air. Not to mention normal dirt, dust and road film.
Keeping a tonneau cover looking new and crisp means finding a product you like and then using it once in a while.

To really show the difference in the before and after appearance, I placed a microfiber towel, folded 4-ways onto a section of the cover and then continued to apply and massage the 303 Aerospace protectant to the rest of the tonneau cover.

Here it is completely treated. Now the black vinyl looks rich and new again and instead of distracting from the rest of the El Camino it COMPLIMENTS it.
