No, that is just making the machine off balance.
I cannot answer that question directly.
But, I was able to do a paint enhancement with 8” pads on a 6” PC backing plate. I ordered the wrong size pads, and didn’t get to polishing until many months later (past return date).

So I was like, screw it, let’s see what happens. If anything, they’ll under-polish the paint...which was fine on this butter soft Mini.

No, it does not matter how far off center you place the pad, the backing plate will still only move 9mm and since the pad is connected to the backing plate it will also only move 9mm just in a different location and would have little to none pad rotation.Quote:
