No experience with that but I do like my Scangrip Multimatch R a lot.
I guess I could take it apart and see if I could find the battery?
I believe it was $130? If you think about buying that I’d recommend getting the Gyeon Prism Plus which is the same light made by Scangrip but it includes Bluetooth to be controlled remotely as well as a diffuser to put on the lens to make it really good to see high spots on coating applications. When I got the Multimatch R this other version didn’t exist.
At that price its a no brainer, just try to repair what I have.
A high lumens flashlight will work just as good. I purchased the Brinkman and while it was good it only lasted maybe 2 years from date of purchase. I tried to fix it and it really wasn't worth the time or trouble. I was ticked off - never will get a Brinkman again.
I now have an Astro Pneumatic Tool 50SL along with a penlight. Both work well. In fact, the Astro is still working off the same charge from 18 mos ago!
You can also make your own sun gun for about $40.

The Brinkmann Dual Xenon, man those were the days! Zach McGovern over at DI did a quick writeup for a breakdown of the unit, one of the comments from Xabo highlighted this battery as a recommended replacement that was confirmed by another user, price should be around $10:
Item Number: SLAA6-2ST
Brand: Duracell Ultra
The Scangrip MatchPen R has been my go to inspection light recently, great being able to switch the color temps and it's good on battery life as well. I lost my Brinkmann years ago so I can't compare directly, always loved that light. The Astro 50SL is another quality swirl light as well, I've had good results with this but find myself reaching for the MatchPen R more often. I want to try that new Meguiar's MT103 badly.
