Coating experts: I need your opinions here
Ok so long story short I decided to give advice to a fellow Cadillac owner who had just gotten his car professionally ceramic coated and he was asking if there was a particular car wash soap he oughta use... I recommended Megs Hyper Wash and he took my advice and bought a gallon.
He said that after his 1st wash using it there was a “film” on his paint. I figured maybe he could’ve used too much soap as it can take someone who’s new some getting used to the dilution ratio. But he just washed it a 2nd time and posted these pics. What do you guys think could possibly be going on here?
It’s a brand new 2020 Cadillac CT6.

Man I feel bad right now... This dude asked for advice and when I chimed in we immediately clicked and he was listening to the advice I was providing and he seems like a cool dude and now I feel somewhat responsible for this strange outcome on his car...

My gut tells me it could possibly be a bad batch? I’m gonna tell him to call Megs on the 1-800 # on the label and maybe they can help.

Perhaps a wash with Reset?
Re: Coating experts: I need your opinions here
B4 you call Megs, I would....
1: make sure it’s hyper wash and not hyper dressing
2: check for a contaminated wash media(Try a new one)
3: check for a contaminated drying media.(try a different towel)
4: make sure product isn’t being over used.

It’s Hyper Wash. He posted a picture of the brand new bottle.
He also posted pictures of some brand new microfiber towels he purchased from the Rag Co. which he intended to use to dry the car.
I gave him specific instructions on how and even when to add 1oz. of Hyper Wash to his wash bucket.
I’m willing to bet those aren’t the possible causes at this point. But I appreciate any and all posts/opinions.

Odd, that I myself also had a similar problem like this, and it was with CP Reset.
And I initially thought the same thing too, thought I used a bit too much of Reset, and the second time I used it, I used much less paying critical attention to mix ratios. And yep, same end results again, a film all over my CQ UK'd Truck.
This then might be something else that causes such, I just don't know?
Anyway, the good news is, a follow up with a good Topper Spray that's designed to work with the Ceramic Coatings should be able to rectify this issue lickety split.

What did the issue appear to be? When looked at in person with your own eyes? Was it streaking? How would you technically define what happened in your case?
Re: Coating experts: I need your opinions here
I wonder if he's rinsing properly. Could be using a power washer that puts out the pressure but very low volume of water and not really rinsing it all. Because of the pressure he thinks it's rinsed enough. Just a thought. Never seen this happen before.

And if you don’t mind me asking, what specific topper spray did you use to fix the situation?
